So I found a lump middle of April got seen at the GP quite quickly and was referred to Breast Clinic. I honestly thought they would say it’s nothing and send me on my way but the consultant said I needed a mammogram and depending what that showed a ultrasound and maybe biopsy. I had the mammogram and was then sent for all other tests. Consultant then told me that they was definitely something to be concerned about.
One week later biopsy was positive with a lobular breast cancer in the left breast ER positive and lymph nodes. I was then sent for CT scan week later MRI scan then I needed a biopsy taken from left arm as lymph nodes looking abnormal.
i have know been told I need a PET scan to check the left side more in depth
I understand that all these tests are necessary and I’m keeping upbeat but the waiting is slowly dragging me down.
Hi Debs. We went through the same last year. It is frustrating when you have test after test and we even had a second opinion with Professor Perren. All we wanted to do was to get a treatment for it. My wife was due to have a double mastectomy but it was cancelled due to finding bone cancers as well. We are on a management plan as it can not be cured only managed. Have faith in your Oncologist. I am always free to chat. take care xx
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
