Hi everyone.
I just woundered if anyone has experienced any water infections whilst taking tamoxifen? I have never had a water infection before and have only been on tamoxifen for 12 weeks.

Hi 1212
Tamoxifen and UTI's: There has been quite a few messages here regarding this. But I cannot find any from Men with Breast Cancer and Tamoxifen however there are enough messages here to come to the conclusion this is a fairly common and unwanted side effect
Diabetes, kidney stones and having an enlarged prostate can also cause recurring UTI's but if these are not an issue for you then it is quite possibly the Tamoxifen causing this.
You can browse a search for previous messages covering Tamoxifen and UTI's clicking here. Hopefully any ladies who have also had this could reply - even though the plumbing is slightly different
Hope you can gather some insight from the above link, G n' J
Many thanks Dreamthief.
I have had this for 4 weeks and on my 3rd course of antibiotics. For some reason it's more uncomfortable when I sit down as opposed to going out walking when I feel no symptoms. Should I call my bc nurse? My doctor said I may need some tests. It's the not knowing which resembles when I was diagnosed with cancer.

Hi 1212
If the anti-bios aren't cutting it I would get back to your GP (I assume this is who prescribed them ?) and try and get some tests or bloods done, and depending on your age possibly a prostate check ?
Sitting down will be putting your full body weight on the bladder / prostate area but I'm not medically trained so have no idea if this is usual for UTI's
Not knowing will do your head in, so the sooner you can get to the bottom (no pun intended) of this, the sooner it can be sorted out. You could contact your BCN depends on how well genned up she is - but do tell her you have already had 3 sessions of anti-bios with no effect.
4 weeks is a long time to be suffering with this, especially if it hurts when you pee
Fingers crossed this can be sorted asap, G n' J
