Hi,
Had my Oncotype result today.
It has come back as 19
Anyone had a similar score and had/not had chemotherapy?
I am 45 and have grade 2, stage 2 ER+ no lymph node spread.
Thanks
claire
I think 0-15 is no chemo in under 50’s
I haven’t had my appointment yet so unsure.
Hi CBRY,
My oncotype score was 21 and I was told that the cut off was 20. because it was 21 and I am under 50 they decided to give me adjunctive chemotherapy. I've now had 5 out of my 6 sessions.
I guess it may also be down to other factors and which hospital you are at but hope that helps.
Good luck with your appointment and any further treatment you may have xx
My oncotype score after having a mastectomy it was 89 so definitely had chemo but thankfully it’s behind me now had my last chemo 5 weeks ago now on lazrotole ( spelling might be wrong
) For the next 5 to 10 years also a pill for bones
( can’t remember what it’s called) for the n cut 2 and a half years
hope everything goes well for you xx
89 - gosh well done for getting through your chemo!! Onwards and upwards now, best wishes to you on your road to recovery xx
Yep 89 score and Still here
but that score has/still terrifies me even though I’m through chemo mastectomy and on tablets for the next 5 to 10 years I still worry it’ll come back
Hi Claire
I am 53 and I had two lumps I had the same as you stage 2 ER+ with no lymph node involvement. My scores came back as 18 and 16. I had 20 sessions of radiotherapy that finished the end of February and I am on Tamoxifen for 5-10 years. I found the radiotherapy very manageable and to date I am having mild symptoms on the Tamoxifen this includes hot flushes. Treatment may be different for you because of your age being under 50.
Good luck with your decision.
Tracey
Hi Tracey,
Thanks for your reply. I decided against chemotherapy and am instead having Zoladex injections and Tamoxifen. I start my radiotherapy on 27th May.
Hope you are well x
I am sorry to hear your score was so high. That must have been a shock. Hope you are well x
Hi Claire
Good luck with your radiotherapy and the treatment you have decided on. I hope everything goes well for you.
