Can anyone assist I have been prescribed Anastrozole but I’m bottom 40’s and pre- menopausal, I have agreed to an oophorectomy but that won’t be for a while due to covid etc, From what I’ve read and seen this is usually used post menopausal?? Not pre?? I’ve left a msg with oncologist but.. does anyone have any ideas if this is correct please.
Hi , I’m 45 and was pre menopausal, I’m currently having zoladex injections which puts me into a chemical menopause, with the aim to eventually have an oophrectomy if my side affects are bearable. I’m also taking Tamoxifen, it’s my understanding that I’ll take it until I am definitely menopausal then will switch to an AI like anastrozole. I think your right to contact your oncologist because that doesn’t sound right , unless they are going to give you Zoladex alongside it .
good luck with your treatments xxx
