I am about to start a treatment plan of Trastuzumab and Paciltaxel. Is there anyone who has had this or going through the same treatment ? I was wondering if there is anything i can do to help with first treatment x
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I haven't had this treatment but noticed that you hadn't had any response to your post. This is probably because it's fallen off the first page before the people with the right experience have seen it. By replying to you it will bump it back to the top of the first page where hopefully it'll be seen.
All the best with your treatment
x
I have had these as the second part of my chemo (first part was AC). I had the paciltaxel (known as taxol also) every week and trastuzumab every 3 weeks. The weekly taxol is a lower dose and I found it didn’t have too many side effects. Main side effect for me was digestion issues, and after 6 sessions I started getting some neuropathy too. The nurses had recommended to take B6 vitamins to reduce the neuropathy. I did lose my eyebrows/lashes too with taxol but my hair (which I had lost with AC) started growing back!
good luck with your treatment, happy to answer any questions you have on it
Thank you , i am finding my way around the site so not quite sure how to navigate lol x
x
Thank you Wittie,
I hope you are well and keeping safe ? and how are you doing ?
Sorry for all the questions i am about to ask but my head is whizzing with what i need to do ,
What is AC? and with your digestion what did you find that helped you ?
Did you eat breakfast before having treatment ? and i will get some B6 vitamins in ,
I am not bothered on hair loss as it only gets in the way and forever removing anyway
Shall i take a water bottle with me for drinking or do they have that there ?
Shall i also take sandwiches and something to read as it my first one i have to stay longer ?
If you could give me any other advice i would welcome it immensely x
Take Care x
