Just wanted to ask your experiences of the above?I'm having a lot of headaches and aches and pains. Prior to diagnosis these were problematic anyway I put them down to menopause. I was on HRT which helped now unable to take HRT for obvious reasons although ER Negative and PR Negative. Have a lot of back and hip pain as well terrible aching arms. Feeling like I've been lifting weights at the gym. Have contacted GP re use of codeine with regular Paracetamol. Sweating and hot flushes are very debilitating too. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thank you All

Hi I'm on injection 8 now and have had a whole range of side effects, mostly mild but some can be annoying and I'm definitely suffering lots of aches and pains, especially in my hips and upper legs.  I mentioned it at my first 3 monthly check up and whilst the Dr I spoke to didn't think it was Herceptin that was causing it she went to my consultant who straight away so yes, this was a common problem.  Headaches too have been an issue, I regularly wake up with one which never happened before I started taking Herceptin. And also suffering from really bad hot flushes, was having them anyway since 2007 but was manageable but now I get full on sweats.

I'm afraid I don't have any suggestions just wanted to let you know you're not on your own.  I tend to take paracetamol mostly.

    XOXO

Thank you very much for getting back to me. I've had alsorts of stupid ideas going through my head as to why these aches/pains and headaches are here. Just spoke with GP who advised Co-codomol regularly as Paracetamol just isn't cutting it for me. I will discuss it with my Oncologist at my next review.

Stay Safe and wishing you well on your journey of recovery x

    Hi  and

J had 18 Herceptin and always got the 24 hour Herceptin Headbanger - That was back in 2012 when Herceptin was given diluted and by bag and pump prior to them changing to the sub-cut jab.

Quite a few who have had the sub-cut seem to get these upper leg, hip/base of spine aches (J had none of this) and have found it isn't as bad if they hold the herceptin in their hands for a few minutes to warm it slightly as it comes from the onco fridge and if injected cold seems to make this pain worse. In an ideal world it could be taken from the fridge earlier to take the chill off it but in the reality of a busy unit this rarely happens.

Ask if you can do this to see if it helps, if it works great Thumbsup tone1 As for the pain you can alternate between Paracetamol and Ibuprofen 2 hourly when the pain is bad - That way you get pain relief 2 hourly.

    Hugs, G n' J
