Hi there, I'm trying to decide whether to enter  the Primetime national trial,I'm lucky in that I have a very low risk of cancer returning so can choose the option of no radiation treatment. However, I feel in a bit of a quandary. did anyone else have this tussle?

    Morning

Warm welcome to the club no one expected to join :-/

Can't recall anyone here mentioning the Primetime Trial (link) in the past so there's a chance no one here could offer any experience of this - Even had a look on the Breast Cancer Now site and it only has one mention but wasn't taken up as they turned out to have the BRCA gene.

Most get though Radiotherapy reasonably well, although for a few it can cause problems like radio dermatitis, inflammation and possible risk of some blistering - bear in mind these are in the minority though.

Other things to take into consideration are if left hand side you may have to practice breath hold technique as this is heart side also any reconstruction can be affected. Daily travel for 15 days Mon-Fri can be a bind too.

You won't receive any extra review mammograms than the standard yearly one if you accept the trial or not, so no gain there ?  Suppose at the end of the day do you go for Rads and gain that 2.7% or risk it and keep your fingers crossed ?

You could make up a list of Pro's & Cons then make a decision based on that.

Not a lot of help really, but couldn't read and run Slight smile
