I had two treatments of AC and did my surgery in March 2020. My last AC treatment was in February 2020. Since then I noticed my hair started to grow a little.(from the time I stopped AC to now).   Now my oncology wants me to continue with Taxol (low dose) weekly for 12 weeks.

My question is will I loose my new hair again? If so will it grow back again for the second time?Does anyone have experience in this kind of situation. (Taking a break from chemo and in the break hair started growing back, and loosing again when started Taxol)

God bless

M

  • My hair grew back on Paclitaxel,  but I was using a not so cold cold cap. I lose a few others on here grew wispy hair after their EC, but they generally kept their hair through their 2nd EC ( usually 4 is given or 3 FEC, but it depends on what your oncologist thinks is the right choice for you).

As far as I researched it Paclitaxel hair loss grows back.  It's Docetaxel that can cause permanent hair loss  (without cold cap) in a small number of women,  and that's not what you are having:)

Thank you for your reply. Just wanted to ask, where did you get the not so cold cold cap?

    Thank you,

  • My chemo suite have a couple of Paxman machines, and one worked really well,  thr other wasn't ad cold as it could have been.  I'd take a painkiller when I got there ad there was a delay while they checked bloods and made up the medication.
