I had a lumpectomy and lymph node removal at the private Spire hospital near my home today. I am so incredibly grateful to all of the amazing staff who made this possible from the deep cleaning of the theatre between every patient and the hour wait before they could put the next patient in there. It meant the poor surgeons and staff operated for 12 hours today.
Our NHS are hero’s!
The pain is pretty intense So not expecting much sleep!
Hi , glad it’s all done and totally agree re NHS heroes. Hope you had a decent night, don’t forget to ‘keep ahead’ of the pain by taking regular doses of painkillers until you’re sure you’re out of pain.
Wishing you a speedy recovery, gentle hugs, HFxx
Hi ,
just to add to HappyFeet1’s post, maybe about half an hour after taking painkillers, begin those exercises from Breast Cancer Care? Don’t overdo them but do them regularly as suggested...
Hope you’re feeling better day by day? A general anaesthetic takes it out of you too, so this is the time to be kind to yourself
hugs xxx

Hi CBRY ,
Hope you’re doing ok and so glad you got your operation. I had further excision and axillary clearance and a drain on 16 th March pain not to bad took regular paracetamol and some co-codamol. It wasn’t until a week after the back of my arm tingly and burning sensation luckily only lasted 3-4 days. Surgeon said that’s where the nerve is and keep taking painkillers and excercises. Wishing you all the best xxx
