Hi All,
Hubby phoned his work this morning to say about self isolated as I had a txt from the NHS Coronavirus service, as I’m sure a lot of you will have, they have told him he will only get Statutory Sick Pay for the next 12 weeks of just £18 a day! I’m so upset and thinking how will we manage on that, even if we get a mortgage break, we have a loan, etc and our council tax alone is £42 a week!
Ive phoned Macmillan this morning and they were really helpful and sending information about universal credit but as my hubby is able to work, we might not be eligible! No idea how we will get by on that, unless we don't a pay any bills!
Fed up! x x
Hange you checked that the hospital hasn't just sent them out to certain groups? Yorkshire_defector questioned it and was downgraded.
No I haven’t checked with anyone, I presumed the hospital will have my medical records and have sent them out. Who would I check with? Our hospital just has one number for enquiries.

Assume nothing! Whilst the NHS is a fantastic service, record keeping is not their thing...
I checked with my BCN, they're best placed to advise as they know you & your history.
Good luck
Sam
Hi Sam,
Thanks for replying. I emailed my oncologist’s secretary as after speaking to the Macmillan nurses at my unit, they said only my GP or consultant could downgrade me.
Fingers crossed.

We had text, both my husband and I...... not from NHS - ours was a text from GOV.UK - I took it as a 'standard text' to everyone and anyone with a mobile phone. Never once thought it was from NHS for 'me' to stay at home....
Hmmmm now then...
Was my text a circular (can't think of right word), a standard text telling people to stay at home
or was this
a text actually 'telling ME to stay at home
xxxx
Please be careful everyone and try hard to stay and be safe xxxx
It's about the rules which apply to every citizen, so it was probably sent to everyone with an active mobile phone service.
Everyone, including those at higher risk, must comply with the measures detailed in that link and can be fined for not doing so.

Totally up to you but I've just ignored it and have effectively downgraded myself...I mean its not like the police are going to have a list of £1.5m people is it...again record keeping in public sector plus you're able to prove you're not part of the group.
So go crazy with your 1 walk or whatever a day. Not sure if this helps your hubby??
Sam
couldn't your husband say that the email was a blanket one (if he works in an essential job). If he doesn't, then his work should be closed anyway.
Hi Londonmumof2, I’m waiting to hear if I’ve been downgraded from my oncologist. My hubby is an electrician on a building site so still open, we don’t want him to be there though obviously.
His job doesn’t have that many people there now however another job just round the corner has 800 workers there, it’s madness!

I got this txt, however the day before I had one from the NHS x
