This seems to be a very bad time to get cancer. I am due to have my op next week! Don’t know whether I’m more worried about the cancer or the virus Thinking

  • Hi Badtiming                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  I know i said exactly the same 20 min ago to my sister its a nightmare.I have just been diagnosed with incurable and don,t know if it will be the cancer or the virus that gets me first. I have now self isolated so when i start chemo ( if i am lucky its not to late ) i am fit enough to have it. Keep safe and i hope your op goes well Xx

Really scary times. I’m also self isolating so that I’m fit for my op. I’m having a mastectomy and lymph nods removed. Not sure of further treatment after that. Thank you for replying to this 1st post, means a lot. I wish you all the luck in the world xxx

  • Hi Badtiming        I had a mastectomy and lymph nodes removed back in 2004. I was amazed how little it hurt, i had a drain in for a few days but other than that no problems. They will tell you to do exercises to reduce the risk of  lymphoedema in the arm were the lymph nodes were taken out my best advice is DO THEM i did and was fine my 2 friends didn,t and now suffer with it.I am sure you will be joining the breast cancer group on this site, you will find a lot of support and guidance we all care for one another and help were we can Good luck with your surgery, not that you will need it haha and i wish you all the best for the future Keep well and safe Xx

I am also due to have mastectomy and lymph nodes removed end of this week. Good luck! Many ladies I have talked to who have had the same done have told me recovery is relatively easy so fingers crossed!

  • Hi Wittie  recovery is relatively easy, i was expecting a lot of pain but honestly no problems i hope it all goes well for you Keep safe Xx

    Hi Badtiming,

Me too. My op is Thursday but at the moment I still don't know if it'll be lumpectomy or mastectomy.

Awaiting bone scan results to see if the CT scan indication that it's spread is correct.

    Good luck this week x
