Hi All,
Had my appointment today for post lumpectomy results, not the news I had hoped for, I will need further surgery and tentatively will be operated on on Monday 23rd, providing the hospital doesn’t stop operations,.
i feel quite detached sort of in a fog, I feel I’m in some sort of daze, which isn’t like m at all.
all the platitudes and mantras I use to chivvy myself up, my mind is empty.
Im devastated.

I know it is easy for me to say but please try not to panic. Firstly, I needed another op following my surgery, I was upset but also annoyed as I wanted to crack on. Secondly, I work for DHSC, whilst we are in uncharted waters, cancer is one of the must do’s so I will keep everything crossed for you. I am due to start radiotherapy on Tuesday, I have to remain optimistic this will go ahead x
Hi Mimiq121,
I was thinking of you. Please don't be disheartened. Did they tell you why a second op was needed. The only thing I know is that if the margins are not clear then a second op is usually needed. That's what I have been told. Also did you have any nodes taken out?
I know it's stressful because we just don't want to be jumping over the same hurdle again and again. But like you I'm trying to take a step at a time on this journey.
The thing is that if there is a problem then there is always a solution to it. At least they are being thorough and want to make sure it's all good before your further treatment.
Take care xxxxx
i had to have a second op to , as my margins were not clear . it was a much easier op and my recovery was loads quicker . didn't seem as awful as the first one which seemed more shocking . i've recovered well and start radiotherapy tomorrow. they have asked me to have bigger doses but less often , so 5 weeks of a higher dose . i'm sure it will be ok . they also said carry on if i think i may have c19 at any time . important to finish course of radiotherapy
Hi
Thank you, l am working through it, l am disappointed and I just hope that the surgery will go ahead quickly, I have to have further lymph nodes removed, and there was a clear margin so.....
I am trying to stay positive and fingers crossed, along with toes!,,,

Hiya lovely,
i had a full Mx 3 years ago with full node clearance and I am doing well now. Pls don’t worry xx
Hi,
The margins weren’t clear and there was cancer in one of the lymph nodes, so removal of the next level of nodes and margin.
Ill be in overnight and come out with a drain in situ.
I m processing a bit better this morning, I just pray that they will allow him to operate on Monday, apparently things are fluctuating all the time .
thank you for your support hope you are keeping your chin up.
