Had my 2 year check up after having TNBC back in 2017-2018, about November 2019 I move in bed and thought oh that position seems to hurt must be some scar tissue or something never thought anything more about it. January started to get a raw sensation in the same breast which has not gone away....again thought nothing of it but thought check is due in March if it continues I will mention....check up time, mentioned the raw feeling and the sore sensation to the nurse doing my mammogram, she noted it down and 1 week later get a call from radiologist, can u come back in for more pictures and an ultrasound, me ok when, oh tomorrow (yesterday)at 1pm, me ok see u then..... get there a bit early mammograms done 6 of them.... ouch.... ok ultrasound next, dr comes in touches my breast and I almost hit the roof, wow the pain I got, ultrasound started she knew exactly where to go....ok u have a new lump about the size of a pea and I'm going to biopsy this right now and send off for testing, she then proceeded to put a marker in and I'm lying think hmmm this doesn't feel good..... got to see consultant at the end of yet another  mammogram and again I'm think this isn't  sit right normally u dont get to see them without appointment  and he was like ok whatever comes back we got this, the lump can be removed as soon as we know what we r dealing with.....I'm like...wow total whirlwind ok world stop and let me process....they advised we would normally get results within the week and get u back in but in the current COVid-19 climate we r not sure when we will get the result and we will deliver them over the phone and get u sorted...... I'm like ok left feeling really sore but like wow what just happened!!!!.. the 1 and only question I asked was can it come back in the same area to be informed oh yes it can.....ok was not prepared for that.....

I'm praying it's just scar tissue but nagging feeling  nope it's back but going to stay positive until I know for sure..... has anyone gone through the same????

  • .....I am sorry you have found yourself in this situation and your post slipped through the morning lists. I must have just missed you ..I check early most days that no one needs a chat and a bit of reassurance.

There isn't much I can say at this point except you can be reassured that everything is being checked quickly. Having had it before you know there are some procedures that necessarily involve a wait and this is one.

I am triple negative too. I remember having problems with scar tissue even up to the four year mammogram but a pea sized lump is probably not scar tissue......but you know that. However....pea sized.....how treatable is that? ....very successful I would think.....so impossible though it sounds. ..try not to worry until the results are in and in the mean time make sure you keep yourself safe from the covid19.

    Take care. Love Karen

Awe Karen thank you so much for your response, your words are appreciated. yeah they said the size of the top of his finger which to me is probably just bigger than a pea!!! I think it's the raw sensation I feel inside my breast that's making me think yes it's back but  I have to try to remain positive till the results are back even though deep down as your say we know.....

It's so nice to hear from someone who has gone through the same thing thank you and I hope this part of your journey is over..... yes stay safe cause the world has gone crazy.... xxx
