So today is exactly one year since my diagnosis of Inflammatory Breast Cancer. On that day I thought that my world had ended and that I was leaving my husband without a wife and my son without a mother. Fast forward to now and after neo-adjunctive chemo, 4 cases of neutropenic sepsis, mastectomy and radiotherapy, life is good and in the words of the surgeon I am cancer free .
I still have to wait for TRAM reconstruction at the end of the year as surgeon won’t do it till a full year after radiotherapy has finished , but even though I’m not happy about the wait I’ll put up with it.
I’m waiting for a physio appointment to try and deal with the cording I have and the tightness around the mastectomy and ANC site but as this seems to be taking a while to arrange have started swimming for an hour each day in the hopes that it will help.
This forum has helped me keep my sanity, show me that I wasn’t alone with what was happening and has given great advice with how to deal with what was going on - so thank you everyone!
Dear Toothtinks
i searched UTUBE for MacMillan cording exercise, and MacMillan lymphodema exercises . All very good and I do not get any real problems now .
wishing you well
