I'm having chemo iin march and anxious about it on many levels ,the long period of time involved ,having had surgery already then radiotherapy to follow,I really didnt
realise how long this treatment would be.
Plus that feeling of dread as feeling better now after DIEP and having to go down that road again.
I think it's going to be a struggle to keep my mental health intact and am just hoping I can do it and be in one piece at the end!
I know I'm not alone but it is isolating at times as you cant ever explain it to other people who haven't experienced it.
Hi
I'm also starting chemo this month. My first treatment is this friday.
I'm feeling anxious , it's mainly about the side effects. I know we are all different , and also know I'd be very unlucky to suffer from all side effects at the same time.
If you feel like you cant cope mentally may i suggest you contact you local macmillian support centre , they may be able to provide a counsellor to help you through this.
I dont think we can truly prepare how we are going to feel during this treatment but I do know I'm going to give it my best shot. The chemo may floor me at times but I will recover and come back fighting. I have to stay this positive and strong as I'm a single parent , although my kids are older they still look to me for strength. They are my driving force in fighting back.
You have the support on the forum , we can and we will do this !!
Take care
