Hi
I had a lumpectomy on Tuesday and 2 lymph nodes removed. I also had an uplift at the same time. I have been diagnosed with low stage breast cancer and the tumor was just over 1cm that was removed. I feel quite well, a little sore. Just wondering how long it will take to be able to get back doing things again - I'm not good at sitting still! I have to go back next Thursday for the biopsy results and am desperately hoping my lymph nodes will be clear and radiotherapy only will be needed. Then other breast will be lifted later in the year. I feel very lucky that the lump was found at my first mammogram as it can't be felt. I'm 47.
Hi ,
take it easy, but do the shoulder and arm exercises! (Yes I know sounds daft!) You've been through a general anaesthetic which takes time to leave your system (up to 3 weeks to totally clear) so give yourself enough time to recover from that, rest as needed ( box sets of DVDs can ge very helpful!) but potter about too, as you feel you wish.
the exercises are especially important if you’re going into need radiotherapy as they like good movement for positioning. Hope your results are totally satisfactory.
Hugs xxx
