I have been on Letrazole for a year. I thought I was tolerating it quite well but I saw my oncologist this week and he wants me to change to tamoxifen.
I had slightly arthritic hands before letrazole and they have got a lot worse over the last year. I also suffer pain in my other joints. The oncologist says that letrazole can cause and exasperate arthritis in some people, and I appear to be one of them.
I am terrified of trying yet another drug, with yet another set of side effects. Has anyone else had to make this switch and how have you found it please? I am particularly worried about hair loss, and hot flashes. I can't regulate my body temperature now so heaven help me if it's about to get a whole lot worse.
I am about to turn 60, and am post menopausal.
I would really appreciate it if anyone can tell me about their experience of this.
Also, as a direct result of what I read on this forum, I have only ever had Femara brand letrazole. Do you have any brand advice for tamoxifen please?
Thank you.
Hi I started of 4 years ago on tamoxifen then letrosole then exmestane found the exmestane worked pretty well with me but doc has now put me back on tamoxifen as I have the most horrendous flushes that's not helping now either seen homeapathic last week as this is my last try before I stop the hormone tabs starting new meds on Monday will let you know how I get on hope your keeping your chin up remember everything is doable x
Hi, I started a thread too, being well post menopausal, I was prescribed Letrozole and yesterday (because of my pre-existing osteoporosis) my surgeon suggested we discussed swapping to Tamoxifen, too. Will be interested to follow anyone else’s experiences!
