Hi , I’m waiting for a mastectomy on 22/1 . I have a grade 3 ductal invasive cancer . The lump is more prominent and easier to feel with shooting pains . I’m also getting shooting pains from lymph nodes . I’m frightened that lump getting bigger and it’s spreading while waiting for mastectomy x
And breathe....it is so hard when you are waiting...for what seems forever...but your plan is in place. Your mind is probably driving your thoughts about your situation...your treatment....your future. Please try to think of the positives....you are doing something and in a couple of weeks your cancer will have been cut out and follow up treatment planned. Your thoughts can be hard to manage...I know I find it hard....but try and remember that treatments are improving all the time and you are doing everything in your power to be well now and in the future.
I ended up having a mastectomy...and it was absolutely the best thing for me...I have got used to being a bit ‘wonky’...
Good luck...message me if you need any support at all...always here.
lionel14372, The waiting is unbearable. One of the hold ups for surgery is a pre assessment clinic. I am a qualified nurse and know it basically involves bloods and a MRSA swab and a pack to eridicate mrsa . I am so frightened that it’s spreading, even though they say it doesn’t grow that fast xx
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
