I am currently taking Letrozole 2.5mg  it's got Cipla written on the box wondering if that maybe the brand. I'm thinking this as when I was taking Tomoxifen I read on here that there are different bPensivends .This letrozole  Is awful  I am really struggling with these hot flushes which Tomoxifen brought me on .  I get the flushes every 5 to10 minutes  they  are getting to a point where I felt like asking my boss could I go home as felt I couldnt cope serving on the checkout at work today.I get this raise of heat which starts from my chest right to my face    , my face  just doesnt feel hot it started to feel like the heat is that hot  that  I'm feeling like a burning sensation  on my face . I could just swipe the clothes of me I feel that hot when it starts lol oh it's a nightmare I can't put up with this any longer, it effects my sleep  my moods in sat here with my bra on and no top writing this lol with fan infront of me .surely there is something out there to help ,is there different brands of  Letrozole like Tomoxifen  which may be suited better to some people more than others . Is anyone else going through the same I feel so fed up of this feel like telling them to keep there medication as I've had enough

    Morning

Yes as with Tamoxifen there are at least 6 generic brands of Letrozole of which Cipla is one of.  The original and registered make is Femara by Novartis but not many are willing to prescribe this as it is around £90 compared to £10 - £15 for the generics.

There are many messages here about the different brands being taken but finding one that suits 'you'can take a while.

Hopefully you will get some recommendations later, J was on Femara from 2012 onwards so I can't offer any info about specific generics.

The biggest issue is coping with the lack of oestrogen which they all cause, but some brands are tolerated more than others regarding the aches and twinges.

You could check these messages out until you get some more replies.

Hope this is of some help, G n' J

    Morning Lovely2

The hot flashes are hideous. I call the feeling hairworms The sweat comes through so fast my hair feels like it's moving. Sleeping in a swamp is also horrific. Waking up with everything soaking is really unpleasant.

However, there is light at the end of the tunnel. I do sweat more than I did but the hot flushes have decreased as Times gone on. I'm on my fourth month of letrozole.

It's my second go at BC. The last time was 13 years ago when I took tamoxifen. I'm post menopause so on letrozole. Maybe if I'd carried on taking the tamoxifen I wouldn't be going through it again.

So, fingers crossed yours will ease too. Tell your boss and your family what is happening and ask them to cut you some slack.

Hubby finds it quite fascinating that I can steam up the Windows in the car in seconds, but it makes him very sympathetic.

Oh I don't carry tissues, they just disintegrate, I carry a flannel, much more efficient, in a little make up bag.

Take care, open the window and remember the water.
