Hi All,
Im nearly a year on from diagnosis. Had a mastectomy for invasive lobular BC, ER pos HER2 neg in October last year and node clearance in November. I Joined this site in January and had lots of support.
Treatment has been chemo and then radiotherapy which finished end of June.
I was told I should have had a Breast Clinic appointment after Radiotherapy, I’ve seen an oncologist but not had an appointment to see the surgeon again or had a mammo appointment.
I rang the hospital yesterday to be told I appear to have ‘fallen off the radar’. I now have an appointment for 31st October with the Dr who diagnosed my BC, but still no mammo appointment, surely it would be better to have had the mammo before seeing the Dr so they have results. Thoughts?
Think I’m probably better ringing the Breast Clinic to see what’s going on.
Hi
Similar to you in that I was diagnosed last August. Treatment finished in June this year. I saw Oncologist 2 weeks after radiotherapy but no-one else. I too have been expecting get an appointment for a mammogram as it’s been over a year. Have a follow up appointment with breast surgeon in November, however I am also going to give breast care nurse a ring next week. As much as I am dreading going for another mammogram I don’t want to leave it much longer.
Hope you are doing well after treatment.

Hi Mrs50,
Yes I think we finished radiotherapy about the same time. Im doing well thank you, just on anti hormone tablets now. Still some issues with lymphoedema and vein damage but they are my battle wounds lol.
I have spoken to my Breast Care Team this morning who confirmed I should have an appointment although one wasn't booked in for me, she said she would speak to my Breast Nurse and I was reassured i would be getting an appointment through the post.
Hope you are also doing well

Hi
Glad your doing well. I keep remembering back to this time last year and how scared I was feeling. Hoping this will pass soon. Yes the vein damage has been an issue with me too unfortunately and the joys of the hormone tablets too. Yeah I’m definitely contacting breast care nurse about mammogram just to put my mind at rest.
Best Wishes

Yes Mrs50,
Its definitely worth a phone call, anything to put our minds at rest after what we have been through!
The lady I spoke to couldn’t apologise enough, anyway I’ve been my presence felt now lol. I can get on with my weekend knowing it’s done.
Take care x x
