@Helen K  no ecg for me either, unless they snuck it in when I wasn’t watching! ( wouldn’t know what to look for!)

I had no MRI or CT scan....and ejection fraction heart scan after 1st cycle of chemo...didn't have time to squeeze it in before. Chemo started 22 days after diagnosis and 15 days after speaking to oncologist.

Had an ECG on day of 1st chemo.

  • Hi all

I had heart scan before starting treatment and will have one every 3 Months to check against base line .

My understanding from my oncologist was that EC ,although not common , could cause a problem .

Then Herceptin which I start after EC was the one with this SE but any changes were reversible .

So the scans etc could all depend on which treatment I was having .

One step at a time and ...Breathe !

  • The E in EC can cause heart issues in between 2% and 10% of people. There was a BBC article this weekend about a woman whose heart was damaged, which I posted about (as someone with palpitations and chest tightness and due round 4 of EC the  next day!)
