I’m anna and 38 years old. I am currently feeling very frightened and hoping someone can explain a few things to me .
My story so far is I found a small lump in my right breast and in Thursday went to the breast clinic . I went alone because I assumed everything would be ok. The consultant examined me and mentioned it could be dence breast tissue and requested me to have an ultra sound .
I had the ultra sound and an area of concern was identified and a biospsy was done there and then . I was then walked into the mamo room and underwent another screening .
Sone time later I was taken into a room by a lovely cancer nurse in the unit and told they had found a area of concern measuring 6mm x 5mm . My world fell apart for a moment and I was struggling to take in what she was saying she was talking like it was confirmed cancer but were awaiting results to find out what type .
rhey gave me a score of 3/4 for a suspicion grade which she said is only used during screening . I now have to wait up to two weeks ,
can they tell if its cancer cancer at this stage
do you suspect results will come back soon
anyone with similar experience to this
Dear Anna,
the waiting is the worst part of this journey and it’s very cruel . You will be in disbelief and frightened mode . I can’t offer you much but a sympathetic ear . It’s Saturday and quieter on here , maybe everyone distracted watching strictly ! If you have trouble sleeping then post on the “Awake” thread , lovely bunch of people on there called “fruit loops” . We all suffer from mysterious journeys to bed - either walking to bed or climbing stairs - something strange happens !!! By the time we climb into bed , we are all wide awake !!
You are not alone , it’s a journey no one wants to make but we try hard and fight hard , we wait patiently and impatiently, but wait we must . EVERYONES journey is different, we are unique and we all get unique treatment , Tailored to us . So hang on tight , the waiting will pass .
be kind and gentle on yourself
Love
Ruby Rose
Hi anna
sometimes the biopsies come back in a week to 10 days, I found the waiting a nightmare as you will see that other people on the group will say the same. I was diagnosed with bc in April, had mastectomy in June. When I went for my biopsies they said there was cause for concern, It was very stressful then waiting for confirmation if it was cancer. Try to take a day at a time , hopefully you will hear pretty quick from your team with an appointment and you will then have a treatment plan for you if it is bc. Hang in in there and keep in touch, we are all here to support you

Hey clocks, Anna,
I had a flash back reading your post. I saw my GP because I had noticed some dimpling on my right breast. She told me that she didn't find anything however I insisted on a mammogram. When I went to the hospital for the mammogram, they called me back after a few minutes for a second round and straight after for a biopsy. I met with the doctor after the initial tests and they told me that it was suspected stage 1 cancer. I wasn't prepared for this and was in a state of shock. This was in July and I've had a lumpectomy on the 21st August and am awaiting further treatment and I still am reeling from that shock.
The waiting for the results is absolutely harrowing, I had to wait for my results after a vacuum biopsy and again for over 2 weeks after my surgery to find out if I required another surgery so I guess there isn't much one can do except hope for the best. I feel having a positive attitude does help though it's natural to be scared and stay up late at night wondering about ones future. Not sure if I helped but sending positive vibes your way.
Best wishes,
SVB
Morning Anna /
Sorry to see you joining us here with this scary scenario :-/
The breast clinic staff are very experienced and can tell the difference between a fluid filled cyst or something more tissue like, that needs further investigation from a biopsy sample(s)
There are many reasons for breast lumps, a majority are benign but unfortunately for some this isn't the case.
Everyone here will agree this period between biopsy and results is a real emotional nightmare, all the what if's come out to play and you are constantly thinking about cancer and everything that comes with it
The only thing I can suggest is you go places, do things or chuck yourself into a hobby to kill time and hopefully take your mind off it a bit until you get your results.
Hope for the best rather than fearing the worst, but if your fears are confirmed and you do get the cancer rock dropped into your lake we will all be here to help you get through it.
The main results come through in around 10 days but if this is cancerous there is one test for a marker 'HER2' which can take a few days longer.
Keep posting if you have any questions, or just want to chat - (the only stupid question is the one that isn't asked)
Fingers tightly crossed for you, G n' J
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
