Every morning at 3am I wake up frozen. Tried putting the heating on but it makes no difference. Just waiting for the hot flushes to start in a little while. Is this typical of chemo? This is my first FEC so not sure what to expect.

I can remember feeling hot and cold during the Fec too....I'm afraid I think that might be one of the side effects......My chemo was in January so I was used to feeling a bit chilly during the night but I was much colder during the day than normal and so hot the first night that I lay down on the tiled floor which was cool and that's where my husband found me asleep in the morning.
I can't tell you how long it will go on.....I don't think it's possible to have any expectation.....every person differs and each month seems to differ too. Unfortunately your reactions will be yours but you have crossed one chemo of the list and you are moving towards the end which will come.........
Hope you feel better today.......
Love Karen

Hi Babs,
Like Karen, my FEC was in the winter months from Dec to Feb but I definitely remember getting ‘cold flushes ‘. They were like shivers going right through your body. Mine lasted the whole of chemo so T too but stopped after that.
All the best with it. It’s strong and therefore crappy on your body for a reason.

Patience and faith
I had my chemo January to April, I’m usually cold anyway, but I found my face would flush red, maybe chemo rash for me. I felt cold all the time lol.
Gentle Hugs Tina x
I had hot flushes towards the end of cycle 3 of EC a couple of weeks ago. It felt strange, as I went through menopause five years and never had any at all (just aged about 5 years overnight with achy joints and wrinkles!)). I'm on day 5 of fourth EC now, and gearing up for the sickness ride:(
Thanks Tina, I'm beginning to think I've been lucky because I wasn't cold all the time like you. I did have a very red face like a rash for a few days.

Thanks Londonmum,
This thread has made me realise how different we all are and we react in different ways. Hope your sickness isn't too bad. Hugs,
Babs ️
