Hi, Im having EC Chemo (epirubicin-cyclophosphamide) 3 sessions over 9 week then (so much info to take in so I apologise if got this wrong) Paclitaxel every week for 12 week. I know the cancer is 3.2cm and unable to operate. I have a large open wound on my right breast where the cancer has eaten away and deformed it also it is in my lymph nodes where I have a very uncomfortable lump under my right arm. On Thursday next week along with the Picc line inserting I'm also going to be shown how to inject in my stomach (which I think would be for hormone treatment). Hope this info helps as any feedback is greatly appreciated x
Hi and a warm welcome to the online community
I'm not a member of this group but I noticed that your post asking for feedback hadn't had any responses yet. By replying to you it will 'bump' your post back to the top of the page where it'll be seen again.
As you're asking about chemotherapy treatment you might like to click on this link to the September Chemo Chat discussion where you can ask questions specifically relating to chemotherapy.
Wishing you all the best with your treatment
x
Hi and welcome to the forum! First of all you sound very brave, as these early stages of being diagnosed and working out what treatment to give are the hardest part, and have reduced quite a few of us into nervous wrecks! Your PICC line will save your veins from having lots of injections and cannula inserted over the coming months for the chemo, as well as the blood tests which are done just before the next one.
You said that it's inoperable. Are they going to consider surgery after the chemo in the hope that it shrinks it? Have you had any other tests done since, like ct scans or bone scans which are common when is in the nodes?
There's a thread here called September Chemotherapy which had lots of advice and hints on the first post, as well as lots of information and support which you might want to have a look at. And pay any questions about side effects etc., as lots of us are on the same regime as you.
Good luck next week with the PICC line and your first chemo the week after:) x
