Hi folks

First a confession,  if it snows on Monday it's my fault. I woke up screaming, literally, yesterday dreaming about being lost in a jungle. Hubby shut the window before he works me , scared I'd wake the neighbours! So this morning I've changed the bed again! I've replaced my normal duvet for one we normally reserve for the van holidays in southern Spain and Portugal. So if we hear a cold snap it will be me to blame.

I've read all the stuff on letrozole and it is suggested taking at a different time. My feet are horrific in the middle of the night. They are so tariff and painfully. I sort of walk it off by the time I've sorted my breakfast. If they get stiffen during the family maybe I can avoid the really worse effect by keeping moving.

Has anyone any idea which make seems best or what other things I can do.

Also, can I have reflexology. I've had surgery on both feet, ironically to get rid of pain, and I'd like to try reflexology at the Robert Ogden centre in Leeds.

  • Hi , I’d be happy with snow, I can’t bear this hot weather. Enough already it should be turning autumnal by now in my book! I’m on nasty tabs (anastrozole) and take it first thing in the morning. I followed someone else’s advice, the reasoning being that any side effects might be easier to bear during the day with more distractions and movement. When do you take yours?

When I was on holiday recently I had to take it in the afternoon/ early evening because of time zones. Interestingly I suffered much worse night sweats - I put it down to the heat there (though it was actually hotter here during the last heatwave) but maybe it was the time of taking the nasty tab! I also had horrible leg pain one night although only once. Re duvets I can’t bear anything above 4.5 tog atm and probably will stick with it till well into September.

Re reflexology, I had it at a Macmillan centre during my radiotherapy. I love reflexology anyway so it was a real treat. But I’d now always go to a therapist who is used to treating cancer patients because I think there are some issues re stimulating our lymphatic systems? So I’d check with your reflexologist first. I don’t know about the surgery. What about posting in Ask a Nurse?

Good luck with it all, cooler weather I think by end of week thank goodness!! HFxx
