nearly a year down the line from surgery to remove a tumour, but lumps, bumps and pain put down to scar tissue and after some phsio to help, nothing really improved much.
Any comments from others with the same problem?
Well, I can't believe I am saying.... I will be two years post lumpectomy surgery in October.... wow where did that go too
The only thing I was told, was to massage, massage, massage the operation site. I have done this, but, if I'm honest 'not' on a regular basis. When I first started massaging the scar, operation site, I could tell over time that the 'hard' scar tissue area did get smaller.
I still have an area of 'hardness' which I believe is 'scar tissue' - I do think over time it gets less, but, we do have to help it on its way with the massaging.
I do get various aches and pains, trying think this is all normal. I am due a check-up in a couple of weeks, so will ask questions.
Hoping this helps.

Thanks for that. I am trying to be positive that it has been worth it etc, but some days seems to be horrendous, and staff very blase about it until I made a fuss. Can't help wondering if some phsio or advice had been given straight away, that it wouldn't be like this now. Don't have a big boobs so very noticeable. Also feel it is another trademark of what I have been through and doesn't help positive thinking!
Hi
I was also told by BC nurse massage. Incidentally just had joints fused on feet and consultant said the same about scars.
Just been on holiday and Hubble wasn't impressed at some of the locations I chose to massage my boob. I tend to do it when it twinged so it's anytime ,any place ,anywhere.
I used rosehip oil on feet scars which are now almost invisible and that's what I'll be using on boob. It's very good for scars and healing. I get it from neales yard. It's not cheap but " I'm worth it" as they say. The bio oil is probably cheaper and just as good. To be honest it's probably the massage that does the job and chip fat would probably work too.
Foot doc said to be " quite vigorous" but that's feet, don't be too timid though.
Good luck
Hello Wendymum
I am two years down the line from mastectomy and I have exactly your problem. I had a wound infection after the op which may not have helped I suppose. My chest now looks like a motor-cross track !
My surgeon surprised me by asking if I’d like to have operation on the scar to remove the lumps and bumps.Technically a scar revision ) It is apparently a long op.
He didn’t think I would be able to lie comfortably to have a local so would need a GA. Since I am 75 and not a topless model I think I will decline. But he must have thought it looked pretty gross to make the suggestion.
I have until the beginning of September to make a decision.
If I was younger I would probably have it done. Maybe!
