I'm so scared
Hello Belle,
Sorry you're here but now you are, we'll help you as much as we can with support....ask your questions, share your fears, cry if you want,
The next few weeks will probably be the worst as everything is tested and analysed and you will find yourself waiting for results and for decisions about what treatments you will have but once you have a treatment plan, you can work with it towards recovery. The treatments may be unpleasant......it wouldn't be honest if I pretended it will be easy.....but nowadays the recovery rate is very high. You will get many replies of support on this site to reassure you of that.
Of course today you are scared and shocked. Even now when my cancer is still clear after nearly 4 years, I have days when I am afraid of the future. But actually my cancer has been treated and I have to believe it won't come back.
Perhaps later on today you will feel like telling us exactly what you know so far? It will help us inform you better and perhaps allay some of your immediate fears.
So take a deep breath.......today is the first day towards your recovery from cancer......a few difficult months ahead .....but like many of here.....all at different stages.....you can start working towards it.
Take care. Cyber hugs
Love Karen
Just that I have cancer I can't sleep I can't stop crying I feel so sick
I worried bout my kids how they will cope I just want it to go away I feel dirty . I get biopsy results next week so another 10 days of more worry
Hi Belle
When you hear the word cancer it is a shock and most people stop listening to everything else that is said. However once you take that first step along the road, which you have done ,by coming on here it all becomes doable. Some of its very tough, but you will get lots of help on here and from family friends and of course the NHS staff.
Try filling in your profile, it sort of sets out the place you're at then you can start the " journey"
Belle....the way you are feeling is ok and normal. Few of us will have felt differently.......
Were you on your own when you found out? Is there someone near you who can talk through what you were told yesterday? Do you have a lump which you saw the doctor about? A mammogram revealed this? Are you on your own at the moment?.....I'm sorry to ask so many questions when you feel so upset but with a bit more information we can help direct you towards the next step so that it all becomes less terrifying and upsetting. ....
More cyber hugs......
Love Karen
Hi Belle
These three tests don't confirm cancer. They are the normal investigation tests. What makes you think the biopsy will be positive?
There is an enormous variety of types and treatments after the diagnosis is confirmed.
I must admit these waiting times are the hardest to deal with. until you get a diagnosis and treatment plan you're imagination runs riot.
Take a moment, make a cup of tea, then make plans for the day. It's like everything else take it one step at a time.
The consultant said its definitely cancer which type will be confirmed next week
Try to breathe lovely lady. I know how you feel, think we all do and reading your short posts brings it all back to me as if it was yesterday. I can see that you have not had your biopsy results yet so try not worry until you get a diagnosis and treatment plan. I know that sick feeling when you just want it gone, think it helps you cope with the surgery if you need it.
We are all here to help you so you just scream and shout if it helps. X
