Dear All,
When is the 1st Mammogram on the remaining breast done. Breast Surgeon said it's on the anniversary of the Surgery, Radiology previously told me it's on the anniversary of when it was seen on the mammogram and US at the Breast Clinic? Whichever date they go with it means a difference of several weeks.
Thank you AnnJac. I hope they soon get to the bottom of your symptoms.
Best Wishes.
I had my first mammogram about 13 months after my mx which was 18 months after initial mammogram when I found my lump! Saw the consultant about 3 weeks afterwards although the mx results came by post in about a week x
Hi everyone, not posted for a while but I keep dipping in. Had my mammogram a month ago. It was exactly a year after my lumpectomy. Had to wait two weeks to get my results which, thankfully, were all clear. Nightmare having to wait so long and I ended up ringing my BCN for her to chase the results. Best wishes to everyone,
Lots of love xx
Group hug for all waiting for appointments, results, reviews and....generally just waiting! And of course celebrating good news
Take care
Mine was exactly a year from my lumpectomy but lovely BCN phoned we three days later with the good news.
Thankyou Karen 234 for your reply, its now booked!
I'm glad you've booked peterawake - thinking of you and sending hugs....
I'll share this, I did do a post about this back in October 2018 - my first year anniversary....
This is such a strange time, before the 12 month anniversary, I felt I was doing 'okay' - moving forward, 'getting there, so to speak' - then when I realised it was the '1st year anniversary approaching along with first mammogram I noticed I was starting to feel very down and sad. I couldn't understand this.
I now think this feeling is fairly normal for many of us, I believe it all stems from deep in our subconscious we have a feeling of how 'happy' anniversaries are - personally, I 'think' we expect to be feeling happy, yet for me it wasn't like this, I felt very down and un-sure, I couldn't work out why I wasn't happy with this 1st year anniversay. I then realised, this first year anniversary brings 'everything' back, all what has gone on in the passed 12 months, especially hearing 'those words' - hence not feeling happy, it has been such an emotional time.
I think, after the 1st year anniversary this is when we start to move forward with our own healing, mentally and psychologically.
Such great news to read and thinking of you all xxx
Good morning what happened . I know what you mean. I too felt down, feeling grumpy , my husband couldn't do or say the right thing, I snapped at everyone. I think the few weeks leading up to your mammogram is as bad as waiting for the result. I had my 2nd mammogram a year to the date of my op and the result came 2 weeks later, it was clear. I changed into my usual me, enjoying the day. I hope all the ladies I met on the day in the waiting room, had the same good result.
