Hi,

i have invasive ductal breast cancer, it’s grade three and triple negative. Was diagnosed last Thursday and that was less than three weeks from myself finding lump.

I’m 43 and live in Devon with my amazing husband and three children. I now have a treatment plan in place, a start date for chemo and have had a clip put in lump and bone scan with a ct scan next Thursday. I’m still in shock, my whole family and friends are shocked too, we’ve not had a family member with cancer so this is new to all of us.

I just wanted to say Hi to you all, I came across this group chat whilst waiting for my biopsy results, it’s been a great help so far, have a lovely weekend

  • Hi , and a very warm welcome to this club that none of us really wanted to join. Yes it’s such a shock, a cancer diagnosis, I know I was half expecting it when I found my lump but was still secretly hopeful that it would just be another cyst. Good that you have great support, but hard too as it is so painful seeing your family suffer alongside you. I think that’s where this site comes in, we can share as much or as little as we want, and people here ‘get it’ in a way that is hard for our families and friends to. And sometimes we find we can share more here as we’re not trying to ‘shield ‘ people close to us.

My cancer was also invasive ductal, different receptors so different treatment plan, but similar  old poop in the end! There’s a ‘Triple Negative ‘ group which you may already have found and lots of other triple negative folk in this group. Also threads here for chemo and radiotherapy.

Glad you have found your way here, keep posting and let us know how you get on once it all starts . And feel free to post any questions, no questions are silly here!  Gentle hugs, HFxx

    Hello

"Snap" although from Tuesday i can say I HAD invasive ductal breast cancer, grade three and triple negative.

I had a mammogram this time last year at the age of 47 and later found out i had the blasted thing.

I just wanted to let you know its a bit of a rollercoaster but there is light at the end of the tunnel. This place made it so much easier for me. talking to people who were going through the same as me and people offering advice.

Ask us lots of questions even if you think they're silly. I know when things have happened and i've thought "oh yes i remember someone telling me about that" it makes it somewhat not as scary.

So come and rant, cry and we even laugh sometimes. It really helps talking to people who get you.

    Take Care xx
