Hello
First of all welcome to the group that none of us want to join. Although it is the best group to be a part of at this moment in time. Make sure you use it. Shout, scream, rant and on occasions we will make you smile.
Try to think of it this way, it has been found and now you can work on making it go away. Do you know what surgery you will be having?? i have had lumpectomies and a mastectomy. They are no where near as bad as you imagine.
You will find the worse thing in all this poopiness is the waiting, so use us while you wait. There are plenty of us who have been in the same situation as you or who maybe in the same situation as you now. There is lots of support and advice here. I speak from experience, these people made my whole experience that little bit easier.
One last thing, no question is a silly one so never be afraid to ask.
Big hugs to you, keep talking xxx
Hi
Being told you have a tumor is the worst part, you will find once you got your plan you will focus on that and its all doable. I had a full mastectomy in January and was lucky that all the tumor was removed and I did not have to have any chemo. I did have a skin-sparing silicone implant done. I now have to decided if I want to go on and have the full reconstruction using fat from my stomach I am still having a long think about this doing the pros and cons.
My niece aged 34 was diagnosed a few weeks before me and has had to undergo several weeks of chemo, then a lumpectomy and is now onto her radiotherapy, see is doing amazing and her words all along is its all doable.
I found that doable is a word alot of people use.
Wishing you all the best with your surgery and do let us know how you get on or if you have any more questions please feel free to ask.
regards
El
