Please can I have recommendations for the most effective creams for moisturising after radiotherapy on breast?
Not yet started radiotherapy, but would like to be prepared for when it does. Thank you.
I used Aveeno, still do now 2 years later as I love it. Slight burn on my collarbone, and also on my back - where the collarbone rays came out the other side!!

I used the R1 and R2 creams especially made for radiotherapy. GP can prescribe them, or you can buy them on line. The radiotherapy unit didn’t seem to know much about them but I heard about them on this website and read up on the studies. I really do believe they worked for me. I got tight skin but put lots of R2 on 4 times a day, plus R1 immediately after treatment. I had no skin breakdown at all. I would recommend them. Good luck x
I used Aveeno cream and E45. I kept my Aveeno cream in my bag that I took when I had my rads and my E45 for home. Didn't get any burning.
Aveeno is much lighter, still use it now sometimes.
Hi
My radiographer told me any moisturiser was ok AS LONG as it didn't have SLS (sodium lauralsulphate) in it.
I have bought the r1/r2 gels but only use them on rad days am/pm using aveeno at other times.
I find with the r2 cream I have to use 2 x 6g sachets per use as I have big boobies! Lol. So hence intermittently using an alternative..
I also have aloe Vera in fridge waiting ... just in case.
I like to cover the bases I suppose!
Good luck ... I'm just starting week 2, so far, so good

Hello.I was using E45 only and did the job.Had no issues at all.Soon as I got home from radiotherapy I applied cream all over my chest and my hubby helped to cream my back in the evening.I was told not to apply anything before the radio session just keep the skin clean and dry.And drink a lot it helps your skin be moisturized.
I have order also this R1 gel but I have wasted 60 pound on it because even I bought it on the official website it was never delivered. And honestly I think it's just a business.
Aveeno or this E45 costs less money and help protect you too.
Anyway if you have any issues the nurse will give you advice.
Wishing you good luck
