hi
I am now swearing by Himalayan Pink Salt as it seems to be a miraculous cure all. My son broke out in a rash which covered most of his body the day before we were supposed to be flying on holiday but I soaked him in a pink salt bath and it literally vanished.
I'm also going to say that as far as I understand it it is completely inert and won't react with anything but it's always worth checking with your team.
I have no idea about Epsom Salts
The pain in my shins was horrific on tax and I had to resort to stronger pain relief . Codeine phosphate didn't work for me so I tried DHC or dihydrocodeine and that did work for me. I also had Lorazepam given to me and that also helped, it's a muscle relaxant and can help sleep and I'm not sure how I would have survived without those two.
There are dozens of different pain killers and it is worth trying a few, and you can have a very small prescription because it's free.
oh and my toenails were threatening to fall off so I taped them on with surgical tape.
hugs

Hi
Either is fine as far as I'm aware. Hot baths and hot packs were a life saver for me. It's great you're being so proactive!! I wish I'd found this site a lot sooner than I did - there is a wonderful body of knowledge among these reprobates on here!!
Do stay ahead of the aches though. Taking pain relief every 4 hours for the days you need to (after checking your temperature of course) is far better than ending up not being able to get it under control. Some have alternated paracetamol based and ibuprofen based painkillers, and then take something every two hours. They are metabolised differently, so this is ok for short periods.
And remember - she who shouts loudest gets the best meds!! So don't suffer in silence.
Also remember that the steroid dose for Tax is higher - so the crash is harder and later. You have a couple of good (and wide awake!!) days straight after treatment.
Hug?

I had a lot of pain during chemo (FEC-T) and particularly from the injections given to stimulate white blood cells. In my case Epsom salts didn't make even a dent on the pain. I take magnesium for muscle pain anyway when needed and this wasn't for me the same pain league.
For me what did work best for pain taking an anti-histamine (Claritin plus Benedryl and sometimes Ibuprofen) . I had a road traffic accident years ago and when I had the T part of chemo (and in particular the GCSF injections) the pain flared up all the areas that had broken bones or bad injuries. This pain seemed to to need something quite specific that I hadn't meet before this time.
I'm still dealing with this pain flare up and have returned to the Celebrex (anti-inflammatory) that I took after my road traffic accident.
Hope you can get aware without severe pain. We are all different and side effects really do seem to vary.
