But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

Hi moomy I am overdue an eye test ! Seeing your posts reminds me.
Should have had an eye operation in Feb 2018 for Asteroid Hylosis ( eye Consultant wanted to remove and replace gel), but what do you know; I was diagnosed with Secondary BC Jan 4th ! No history of BC in family.
Though there’s definitely weak eyesight on maternal line, my mum was adopted and when I finally traced her true family, her half sisters had cataracts and my grandmother had cataracts and glaucoma.
I have had cataracts in both eyes, and now have implants instead.
I’m being montored for glaucoma. My mum bless her, who passed away at 92yrs in 2016 had cataracts in both eyes too, implant in one and took medication to keep glaucoma at bay.
I have Thealoz Duo Gel UD 0.4G PF Gel capsules : Preservative free on prescription from my GP as I have dry eyes due to being on Chemo long term. I find them very good for dry eyes.

Really good info toxophilite ... never had HRT, did shift work but really for me it’s more important to improve diet and get fit/reduce body fat which I have to say has decreased since diagnosis ... !!!
My sil has an automatic and it’s really good for driving in a big city. I’ve yet to try one but I do believe that they are getting more popular. How’s the archery practise going?

Hi Judith,
Yes I too have dry eyes, use ‘Optice’ eye drops 4x daily, seems to help.
Hi Toxophilite,
Yes I too took HRT partly due to palpitations.....
I think I will have to ‘park’ the blame for my BC and just regard it as a compilation of everything!
Hi Flossie,
Those car decisions....I too enjoyed automatics but watching the fuel go down faster made us decide against...
