It seems I'm a patient now!

But not a very patient one!

I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?

Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that,  plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.

By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.

But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

    Hi Moomy

For an urgent I need to ring in the morning.  Then a doctor will phone me and if they think I need to see them I will then get an afternoon appointment.  So I will do this tuesday as a friend coming 80 miles to see me on monday and she has booked train tickets.

Enjoying hols - this little chap is my reason for keeping trying.

  • I do hope you are seen and sorted next Tues .

    , glad you are improving.

I am back on the B12 spray, thanks for the idea. Hope the truly awful muscle/tendon/ligament pains will ease. Because I am wiped out after the holiday journey and builders' chaos have done no walking, maybe that is a factor. Also I am wondering about the takeover by Cipla of Accord. Maybe trying a different brand is worth trying.

    Love to all xx

Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!

  • Doing a bit of a catch up and see you’ve been in the wars .... hope you’re now on the mend. Take care taking those tablets. Loved the look of your breakfast. Xx

  • Take it easy ... let yourself recover from everything. Didn’t know Accord was being taken over. I’m finding my seizing up and fatigue is worse this year and I’ve only been on Letrozole since June 2018. I’m hoping it will settle down again. Mind you I have had a couple of long haul trips and when I’ve walked 9-10 miles it does wipe me out eventually Joy  Just recovering from weekend away so must start doing some walking again. I hope your B12 spray works ... and the building work isn’t too trying. Did I read somewhere your freezer had been turned of !!

Hmmm et al...can I remind you of analgesic gel which is menthol etc based? It is blue, comes in big tubs under names like Freeze or Ice and is available in pound type shops etc.

I find it amazing for stuff that may sound contra indicative...like skin pain...but kuz its so cheap you can slap loads on and if it doesn't help, not much harm done to you or your pocket Slight smile

    Take care

  •  Thanks for that ShimmeringUnicorn, I’m actually using contrast baths and the trio of gel ice packs I acquired, at least one while I was still at work, they chill down fast. It’s a case of swapping them about with the soft fruit I’m freezing, haha!

AnnJac, he’s gorgeous, what a lovely photo!

I heard a whisper about Cipla taking over Accord, Seaspirit, but so far my Accord packs are unchanged and I have checked the small print!

I'm gradually improving, thanks all, (hope long haul flights haven’t given you too much trouble with sleep times, Flossie) headache is definitely due to teeth grinding, plus sinuses being a bit blocked (that’s due to windows being wider open and hay fever coming in more!) it was back this morning but not in the night, so paracetamol and coffee helped. Bruises multi coloured now, thumb joint is still quite sore but since I think it might have bled into the joint it will take a while to improve totally. It’s the joint I dislocated years ago and is prominent with slight distortion over those years.

Have rapidly mowed the lawn after this morning’s drizzle, on hearing the weather forecast, its evened it up, some areas were growing and some weren’t.

also picked and frozen yet more fruit, there’s always more than we can eat, even with my breakfasts!

  • Well done mowing this morning . Planning that job for the next good day. We have left most of the grass for weeks as there is such a lot of stuff growing in it that the insects and bees like...just kept the front neater. Have asked OH to grow some fruit. He’s got herbs, chilliest etc on the go. We’ll only have apples from one tree this year and next, as we had the rest pollarded last year. I’ve still got Accord the only change this time  is in package design at the ends.

  • Good thoughts about wildlife, Flossie, last Christmas I got some new wildflower seed bombs as presents and they have been planted in huge tubs either side of the shed door, yellow daisies and blue cornflowers so far in flower and yes, flies and bees are loving them!
