But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

Moomy
Hello all!
Sorry to be away for so long, but work has completely floored me, plus the effects of Letrozole.
Have been lurking in the background for a while (on many things), but now spring is in the air, I feel the need to move forward.
So good news Flossie25 on your first mammo - such a relief. And your cystisis moomy sounds grim - hopefully its on its way out. But sounds like you have had some fun trips away. seaspirit44 sounds like you are keep very active swimming Tai Chi etc , and culturally (well done you). And Violetsniff hope you are well.
Im off the the garden centre this morning to take my elderly parents for breakfast. Then attack the garden or a walk with the dog. Need to up my exercise as so stiff these days. I have started Pilates, which I love.
Have fun everyone xx
Hi Eddiboy,
so good to hear from you, have been wondering how you are getting on! Boooo to work wearing you out!
Things chez moi are a wee touch better re cystitis, but I am VERY annoyed it got this bad! I’ve had problems for a number of years but since GP put me on vagifem it became a lot better. I discussed this with chief surgeon when we realised my bc was oestrogen positive and it appears there is minimal problem in absorption plus a quality of life consideration. So having discussed it too with BCN and GP I’ve continued. Grrrr, us older ladies have a lot to put up with!
hugs to you all xxx

2 walks (a loo break for us both halfway!) and a total of 4.33 miles walked/wheeled, all my 3 loads of washing is dry, and away, so lovely to have it dried outside, it smells so good!
Daughter texted a photo of her new puppy (miniature Schnauzer) in a papoose as they took him for a walk too, well carry I suppose! And she says he wasn’t at all fazed by traffic, noise, dogs or children, sounds very positive! He has his second jabs next week and can then be allowed to walk properly (but I suspect he will be too busy sniffing everywhere to walk far or fast, a bit like a toddler who wants to look at everything!

Moomy
Glad it’s clearing up moomy. I feel they need to treat it more aggressively at onset at our age. Can quickly get out of hand.
With you sll the way re local oestrogen cream. I have used it for 7 years. It is quite safe even with oestrogen positive cancers. It saddens me that so many ladues are denied it out of ignorance. It makes such a difference to quality of life xxx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
Hi Seaspirit,
yes, until I read more widely I wasn’t aware that the oestrogen really didn’t escape into the bloodstream, maybe at first when treatment starts but not when you’re in the middle of it..
hope you are doing ok after the Botox treatment this time?
Anxious to get back to yoga tomorrow, had to miss last week, and haven’t been sleeping as well (though that might be the anti-b!) so I hope it settles enough!
A beautiful day out there again today, off to the Bombe today and probably tomorrow too.....
