But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

Thanks ladies!
how are you doing ?
I believe it is the beginning of things for you with your new diagnois?
please feel free to share anything you like.....if we can help we will xx
Hello, Bosombud,
yes, do feel free to post, it helps, honestly!
Well ladies, daughter is walking around Henley enjoying more snow than we have here in northern Bucks (but we generally don’t get that much) and really was out and about early! As a musician she doesn’t normally get up that early! But snow obviously got her going!
had my podiatry appointment, bless him he seems to find more teeny corns every time I go! So a sweep of the snow on the car beforehand (so many don’t, and they could so easily get fined!) and set off early in case the roads were bad (they weren’t!) so a chat with the ladies in reception, a chat with the podiatrist, a walk through the town to and from the car park, and back home with a coffee while the washing machine and bread machine do their thing!
Shall I get out and christen new untrodden snow? Hmmmm......

Moomy
Have been following all the lovely ballet tales, excited myself now as friend just texted re bargain tickets to Royal Opera House for tomorrow's Royal Ballet mixed performance matinee - Asphodel Meadows/ The Two Pigeons - sounds fun and a bit quirky, can't wait! Love going to Covent Garden anyway, and it's my first proper day out with a friend (had a lovely family trip to Cadogan Hall over Christmas) since my operation. They're standing tickets but I guess that's sort of exercise and sometimes you can sneak into posh seats....
Wow, that sounds wonderful! Hope you can sneak into seats as standing for that long sounds tough, I certainly couldn’t do it I have had a bad back for many years and standing for a long time really stirs it up!
if my back wasn’t so bad I’d seriously think about Promming, but I just couldn’t a) stand for hours in a queue and b) then stand for that night’s concert!

Funny you should say that, moomy, lovely friend just texted to say she's upgraded them to posh seats in orchestra stalls, so no standing or sneaky seat sitting required! Think there's quite a lot of ticket availability as it's a matinee and perhaps a bit offbeat. Can't wait.... HFxx
moomy....you do sound as if you have a baeutiful and well-planned garden.
and HappyFeet1(yessss!!!!)how lovely that you are going to see the Ballet,in posh seats no less!!!
I was born with an unforunate future of a champagne taste and ginger beer wage....so if I get to see beautiful things it is because my sisters sometimes take me.(oh-and havent managed to find myself a husband..forgot that!)..But I love Covent Garden too...and love the idea of the Opera House having the notion to sing opera to the masses....
Have a lovely time xx
How super, HappyFeet! Just the ticket! (Pun intended!)
ha, Violetsniff, we’ve been in this place a long time and have got to know what works and where! The soft fruit freezes beautifully and keeps me going through the winter!
