But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

......and a good couple of naps later (told you the steroid tablets would wear off a bit) I'm well chilled, still have a bit of steroid twitchiness, and for the first time for a whole week, am actually feeling cool. One of the problems of severe hives, I found, was heat emanating from anywhere and everywhere, much of the time!Â
Hope this is the one and only time I ever succumb to this, it was awful!Â

Thanks, Toxophilite!Â
Unfortunately I still have a couple of high dose steroid days, then can begin reducing them, the last (1) is literally the day before my op.Â
I've told my BCN about all this, too, so they are aware that there's another drug to avoid (not that they will need to think about antihistamines after a mastectomy - I would hope!)Â
Onwards and breakfast so I can get those pesky steroids down me again!Â

Hmmmm,Â
No afternoon nap today, but I did sit down with feet up for a while.....l
Cut the lawn today, it was sunny and the lawn looked at me! First cut of the year and it looks good for it, won't be able to do many more for a while.....
Off on our short break tomorrow lunchtime-ish!Â

Now on holiday, can't believe how sunny and warm today has been! Norfolk looks chilled, though!Â
We've been told there are nesting Barn Owls nearby, hope we see them!Â
Just enjoying a few days' grace before surgery, thankfully I can begin reducing steroid dose from tomorrow onwards, maybe the jitters will ease in a few days!Â

Wet morning, but hey, it was forecast!Â
Strange beds, very warm cottage and strange noises kept us both awake longer than otherwise (plus the steroids for me!)Â
Oystercatchers don't appear to sleep, they were twittering on half the night! Crow scarers too! (Not that they bother crows at all, haha!)Â
Plan today, to get going slowly and relish every moment even if it's wet out there!Â

A full-on 'National Trust' day out, the Jacobean huge house at Blickling, then on to Felbrigg Hall.Â
Fish and chips in Cromer, half way, (well you have to!) and then back via the long windy coast road past Sheringham, Stiffkey, Wells and Holkham.Â
Back to the cottage for R&R (and maybe a glass or so!)Â
I have already found a slight difference in reduction of steroid dose, only one so far, but I'm not 'quite' so twitchy!Â
