But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

We had a lovely evening thank you Flossie25 , the food was perfectly cooked and nicely served too, they were even careful to turn the plates so that the brand was at the right angle to read!
Daughter just texted, the biopsy results are still not in but the Prof is going to chase and phone her tomorrow. She will start Brentuximab again probably in 2 or 3 weeks, PET after 3 doses and decide on either more doses or a donor lymphocyte infusion from her donor. This is of course assuming everyone’s guess is right and it’s a recurrence of Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
The other treatments, Nivolumab or Pembrolizumab, are to be held in abeyance as timing for either plus a donor lymphocyte infusion can be critical as if timing is wrong it could be fatal.

Onco appointment for me this afternoon, yes, I’ve got neuropathy. He suggests a physio appointment (but not sure how much that would help!) He also suggested I have a BCN appointment to fully assess the flat area as there are lumps and bumps which I’m feeling on doing deep massage that I need to know if they are normal, post-rads, or not.
Told him about daughters problems too, as in my opinion the worry it has an effect on the health of everyone in the family.
But he seems happy with how I’m doing otherwise and they will see me again in 3 months.

A little shopping for fresh fruit and also spotted some bedding plants….yes it was Lidl!
then I continued the work I’d begun in the garden yesterday, trimming off dead wood and removing the mossy growth around my blueberry shrubs in their pots, and watering them, haven’t seen many bees fertilising the flowers yet.
Lunch beckons…..
daughter is in her Henley flat and today is planning to get a reasonably cheap carpet measured and ordered. It will hopefully help sell it for her.

It was a pottering in the garden sort of afternoon, tied in some new shoots of the loganberry and blackberry plants, moved some pots around, cleaned pots, watered as everywhere is incredibly dry (that will probably mean rain tomorrow!)
daughter is dismayed by carpet prices and instead is probably going to hire a carpet cleaner.

I’ve done little today but did have hair trim … growing layers out until I get to the stage and say “cut it short” …. again.
Carpet is no longer a cheap option moomy although it depends on what kind of carpet you want. But it all adds up.

Well daughter recorded the phone call from Prof Collins. It seems it’s not definitive that the node she’s feeling is Hodgkins again, though they aren’t absolutely certain that it might be a B cell lymphoma, but are running more tests. He got her scans etc up again and will send them to her with the relevant reports. Apparently it’s not common to get a recurrence this far out but he’s not completely ruling that out. He also said that post transplant it’s not uncommon to get nodes that light up on a PET but then just eventually disappear (I guess then the donor cells find and attack?) in conclusion he wants to wait a couple of months and see her again, maybe consider an excisional biopsy at that stage if it’s still there. Well, that’s interesting. He sounds really pleasant and quite happy to discuss her options with her.

This morning I had ECG, no problems whatever seen. And have phoned for echo and that’s been fitted in this afternoon!
so the GP I saw said she’d phone cardiology and explain and ask if they would advise anything further, said if they say no, then to tell that to travel insurance company when I arrange cover for the cruise. Fingers crossed!
