But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

Happy Birthday to your son and daughter. My son was 48 yesterday too. Where does 48 years go? I'm trying not to feel old but suddenly it isn't quite so easy, is it? Especially when you realise that now you are the oldest generation in your family ......How gloomy I am this morning? Hopefully it won't be raining when it gets light and I can go for a walk before breakfast. Just a stroll around the block but last week it was beautiful and very uplifting.
Lovely photos, Lacomtekp
yes they are now 47 and 49! 2 years and 2 days between them.
We did have a lovely evening together, lots of laughs.
But I’m really tired, think this cold bug has taken more out of me than I knew, I’m not too sure at pushing myself to get that walk in this morning; but we’ll see. I haven’t yet had my morning coffee!

I did manage my morning walk, followed by some laundry, unloaded dishwasher, drove myself to get bloods done (weights and measures too!) and they said if infection markers or anything else not right they will phone.
Zometa tomorrow anyway, and I guess most likely pick up the next (reduced) lot of Abemaciclib?
Now feeling tired again, it seems I can push myself in the mornings but by mid afternoon my energy levels have begun to slump. Ah well….

No phone call so I guess Abemaciclib will get prescribed (but I bet that doesn’t always follow?)
tomorrow I’m ready for driving in again but will make it clear I need to be away by 3 pm at the latest as that’s when the light (or lack of it) starts to bother me.
Daughter managed a good practice of her concerto here this afternoon. I think she’s going to be well enough. we watched the channel 4 programme on the Tsunami, one of her first chemo nurses was in Thailand that exactly time but on the east side, and was safe, we remembered worrying.

Wasnt sure if pic would post. Working at home today then!
Hugs to all. I do read the posts just don't get much chance to reply as nothing exciting to tell. X
Snow here in Manchester too xx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
Went into the cancer unit expecting Zometa, but that’s now been put to 6- monthly. So all I did was collect a new box of Abemaciclib, 100mg this time and a good chat with a senior sister. Apparently it can take 3-4 months to really settle in Abemaciclib, and once they get the right dose for each patient, it just becomes another ordinary pill to pop twice a day for those 2 years. They are then happy to dispense 2-3 months at a time. So my hopes to escape to a few sites in Yorkshire with the Moho next year seems a much more distinct possibility! Yay!
White stuff has virtually all gone now, it’s just damp as it’s been raining/snowing all night as well as much of yesterday.
