But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

Throwing it down with rain again here, just as the floods were easing (apparently they opened sluice gates both further up as well as downstream) but the dual carriageway A421 (Milton Keynes to Bedford) is still in need of pumping, think it was built as a new road through low lying areas without adequate thought of potential flooding. I said the designers should be made to work it with mops and buckets to show them they need more forethought!

Oh stay safe and I know how you feel as going through a hurricane right now in Florida. Helene is going up the west coast and worried about storm surge. We did what we could to secure the house and pray we will be okay and not get damage. Life goes up and down. Take care and I have seen on BBC news about flooding in Europe.
Barbara
Oh that sounds horrific Hopeful Barb , I hope you’re safe…hurricanes sound so scary.
my town is partly low-lying and so part floods when the river rises suddenly after heavy rainfall, but my house is in a newer development which is quite high up so it doesn’t flood. Sadly the maintenance of the river course hasn’t been done properly for years, as costs and privatisation of the industry has lessened the budget. So flooding is more prevalent and worse managed.
Once again I’ve had a rough night, found it hard to get to sleep and woke early again. Maybe that’s the hit of the new meds? Hard to tell which one, if so, as they started at the same time.

Oh Moomy, we had a horrible experience with the hurricane. Devastated our home with water everywhere. About 3-4 inches deep. Our home was built in 1950 and had beautiful wood floors and they are a mess all warped. We are safe and in a hotel now. Have been in the home for 37 years and never had any water intrusion. Global warming. At our age I think we are looking to fix the home and sell and look for something that is higher and drier. My son is a Lieutenant in fire department and he said they were so busy with fires and 911 calls. They couldn’t reach some homes and they had to just let them burn. Awful stuff. Lives lost. Hugs to you and hope you can tolerate your meds.
Barbara
Oh no, Hopeful Barb , that’s devastating, you poor souls. I really hope some repairs are possible? Would insurance help cover the expense? But I’m so glad you’re safe….
some of the roadside cottages in our town got flood water in, in spite of sandbags at doors. I feel so sorry for folk like that, I lived in a village when young which once had bad flooding and as then a teenager, I was part of a group who went to help sweep out the mud afterwards, so incredibly sad and smelly too. I wished I’d been more able to help early this morning but at 79 with mobility problems I think I’d have been more of a hindrance! Plus I’m dog-minding at present too.

Yes we have flood insurance thank goodness. It is hard when you get older too. I am 75 and hubby is 77. Our yard is a mess too with debris. I guess we will just work it out. Thanks for caring. You are sweet.
Barbara
So glad you’ve got covering insurance, Hopeful Barb ! I hope you can get it all sorted soon, such an upheaval when houses go awry.
went into the museum for a couple of hours this morning, some routine maintenance, oiling and cleaning…..my colleague got in a bit later.
Some griping tummy pains and a few visits to the loo this morning, (sorry, tmi!) some emergency meds may well get taken later on as i really don’t want to miss tonight’s concert. She’s out at rehearsal now, will take Henry-dog out in good time so he’s ‘comfy’ to be left this evening for a few hours. Concert and buffet will only be around 3 hours maximum, so Henry-dog will be fine.

I was away from Henry-dog rather longer than we thought, but at least I got back and was able to whisk him out for a final toilet-walk before bed. Daughter was rather later, she’d gone off for a drink (I drove her campervan home) Think Henry-dog has forgiven us
no side effect problems this morning, thankfully; perhaps it was a one-off reaction to diet? Hope so…

I think we helped Henry-dog not to fear us going out together as we took him too, to drop daughter at the station as she’s got work to do in Manchester tomorrow, at the RNCM, her old conservatoire (she got head-hunted a few years ago to join the teaching staff there) and does special things like tomorrow, being musical director and conductor for a show in their ‘pop’ course. She was up a couple of weeks back to audition.
I had worried, as last night when Henry was alone rather longer than we wanted, that he’d remember us going off together as we did then, would worry him. He was fine and has been very good all evening. Daughter is back again on Tuesday, we will both go off to meet her from the station, I’ve decided!
