But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

Glad the MRI showed nothing sinister moomy, it sorry the pain is so bad. I’m sure you are right about the grieving component, but all the extra activity isn’t helping I’m sure. I hope you get the referral soon. Maybe they could give you an injection . Sending love and hugs xxxxx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
I’ve decided to resume more yoga, a little each day. I know it’s keeping me mobile and now that I know there’s nothing that I can harm, I will try and do some each day.
Had a lovely call from the volunteer counsellor, we spent a few minutes chatting, also the district nurse who will be on duty over the weekend too, she’s lovely.

Hubs has been so sleepy most of the day after his early rice crispies start, but woke up to watch tv this evening and has found a Netflix film to watch! Sometimes I feel he’s fading away and then he perks up again! I said this to the hospice nurse and said he used to be a strong man, she said that yes, this does sometimes happen.
Son is taking his turn sleeping in their campervan overnight, daughter is over at Snape near Aldburgh, tutoring in a big room with her mask on!

A horrible thing to think about - I was really quite concerned about finance, the carers we have are paid for by CHC and that’s for ‘end of life’ care. I was thinking if it goes beyond their estimated time then I would be faced with a bill. That was something I hated to do, but voiced to both hospice and district nurses yesterday. However they both reassured me that if it goes longer they will simply reapply for funding and both said it’s never been refused. We are financially ‘ok’ at present but I’m aware that care costs can mount up very fast.
Son has gone off to his teaching, it was good to know he wasn’t far away if either of us needed him during the night. I’m sure I sleep a bit easier if either of them are parked on the drive. Thank goodness for campervans!

Bless you seaspirit44, but I have to think of stuff like that as I will be managing just on a pension. Hubs gets DLA and of course that goes when he does.
And I can’t ask the kids for help (even if I wanted to which of course I don’t!) as they have been cutting their work knowing that they will struggle emotionally, plus of course they want to be able to drop everything on the spot when needed. One advantage of freelance working is that you can explain about not being able to guarantee being able to do gigs, but if you can’t, then you’re not earning of course.

Son got back so I rapidly mowed the lawn while he listened for hubs, we now have a baby alarm which is handy (thanks, Amazon for your rapid delivery)
Son was wanting to do it but the fresh air and gentle walking was just what I wanted.
Back is bad today (not sure why) and I’m really needing my pain relief and caffeine.

Speak to MacMillan about finances to get peace of mind snd you can Aldo check entitled to . It's good to be practical about these issues. You will get 25% council tax discount but may also qualify for pension credit , attendance allowance for your own health needs etc . Hope you have a good weekend x
Attendance allowance is currently £60 a week, and your back pain would probably qualify you, though you'd need an assessment. You might also qualify for council tax benefit beyond the single person reduction. You can check here: www.gov.uk/benefits-calculators
Thank you all, will look out for benefits, the Macmillan helpline is great at that, I know. I did do a search for pension credit but our income was too much. Penalties of trying to save against any eventualities, eh?!
