But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

My second jab was fine, no problems whatever (apart from slight dizziness that night which could easily be from tiredness!)
hope yours goes ok too Northerner!

Here’s hoping for some baby steps forward moomy. The scams are so annoying and so frightening the amount of people who will genuinely fall for them so well done for reporting them. Have a good day, keep warm I think we all have a cold day today though beautiful sun and blue sky here today xx
Daughter is back after house hunt x2, they’ve found a lovely place which would be great just to move into, and daughter would then be able to build her music/voiceover studio in the back garden, twice the size that she has now. But she’s got useful experience from building this present one.
they are going to put in an offer tomorrow.
Hubs enjoyed the FaceTime chat with us all and came up with some ideas, bless him. He seems less despondent though has got them to help him to bed a bit early. He’s been listening to music a lot today, he says, and has had some apple juice for lunch and tea/dinner which was clear of course, he’s not allowed milk in his tea so not that nice, might try black coffee although the hospital coffee is pretty awful (I remember it too!)

Phew! I’ve been busy. Talked to ward sister and said about walks, plus asked that if I was able to get his Covid 2nd jab would they give it. He’s been for a walk! Result! Oh and he said he walked further than at home, probably good haemoglobin levels being better has had a result there! And I’ve got approval for Covid jab but it depends on getting it from the GP surgery. I’ve put in an online request as the queue on the phone was 40!!!!! He’s on free fluids after today’s round which means an improvement, so soups, tea with milk etc, which I hope means healing is happening at last.
Got my M&S delivery of new pillows, nice! Hermes, though, tap at the door, drop the parcel and run! She didn’t even ring the Ring! Hubs told me, as he got the Ring notification quicker than me, I was just in from dumping some rubbish!
phoned the specialist nurses and kidney biopsy of course isn’t ready yet. Phoned the Oxford oncologist’s secretary and of course now the Govt have shut the door on getting a private opinion then care on NHS we can’t go down that route. So will have to wait for NHS wheels to grind.... as private would most likely involve us financially ending up on the streets! She was very sweet and said I sounded very young, when I told her I was 75 I suspect she nearly fell off her chair!
so now a wait for supermarket delivery, then an Amazon one and a nurse appointment for my arm dressing. My sprained ankle is still slightly swollen and lots of bruising but 2 days comparative rests have helped that and my bum, now for my gentle rehab to start!
What a full busy day, now time for a coffee.....it’s cold out there though so take care and keep warm, everyone!
