But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

Just had a text to say they’ve taken blood for cross matching for 2 units so it may all go ahead after results are back from that, he says about an hour....

Big George and his team are keeping a really good eye on hubs moomy making sure he strong enough for what's ahead . Don't forget to do your bit and eat / rest is daughter still able to be with you ?
Take care
Awww, yes she’s staying tonight but has to go home tomorrow as she’s got an appointment in Oxford on Saturday (more blood letting!) it’s a pity she can’t donate her blood, but after a bone marrow transplant that’s not allowed. She has high ferritin levels and this is the only way to reduce them, she couldn’t tolerate the only drug that would work.

I remember reading that before about your daughter having to blood let ....your family have had their fair share of complex issues . Yet you all cope so well and are such a support to each other .
Daughter is doing her immunoglobulin as I type! It takes about an hour at a time.
just had a 4-way FaceTime to include hubs, he found it a bit hard as he’s got 2 lines into each arm and a N-G tube too! They are, thankfully, now checking pressure areas as he can’t move much!

Sounds like they’re making sure he’s as stable as possible before going in. Hopefully Mr Tumour will be sent packing or at least kept at bay by end of play tomorrow. Love to you both, HFxxxx
