But not a very patient one!
I've at least got a diagnosis, it's invasive ductal cancer grade 2, but still small, oestrogen receptive but looks as if I might get away with the lymph nodes....and maybe not too much treatment afterwards?
Complex plan, but to begin with, a sentinel node (plus another one or so) removal as day surgery, (a nuclear medicine visit first to get 'the jab' for them to trace) then a gap while that, plus the HER result come back, then because of my previous surgeries for cysts and the fact one resulted in a massive haematoma, therefore scar tissue, I will have a complete mastectomy with an implant. That will be immediately after Easter.
By finding out as much as possible beforehand, the surgeon hopes to prevent too many operations. Obviously I will then need Tamoxifen or similar, so will appreciate helpful advice about that.
But I'd be interested on anyone's 'take' on her plan. I feel reassured that she took time with me, and the BC nurse afterwards spent a good while too.

Hi Moomy
My drain only came out yesterday, it was still draining quite a bit but BCN was concerned that I’d end up with it infected as it was getting really sore. I didn’t feel a thing when she pulled it out, such a relief.
Glad you’re doing well, take care

Hi Helen,
So now for you it’s all on the up! Did you get rid of the lovely socks at the same time? I’ve been told they remain till the drains come out!
They made an appointment for Friday as BCN said they should be ready by then, I was hoping yesterday but it was still less than a week and they are both still draining a bit. Think as I had to have that second surgery they are extra wary too!

Well no one mentioned the socks so I just Googled a bit and from what I’ve read if you’re up and about and move it they can come off so that’s what I did.
I only had one drain but it was draining quite a bit until yesterday- I’d had it for 13 days.
Yes hopefully on the up now - it’s much easier to do everything without the drain .

Bit sore and aches now even after a nap, maybe pushing the trolley (not heavy and no sticky wheels either) was a touch too much?!?!?
Memo for next shop, ask someone to push out to the car!!!

Hi Millie,
Have to say I’m really looking forward to being rid of the bag and bottles, I’ve needed to keep a light on in the teeny bedroom shining a bit to remind me to grab the bag when I need the loo in the night! A pain but a necessary pain!
I know I shouldn’t get rid too soon as I bled so much after that first op, the whole area right up to my collarbone was tight and painful before I went back to theatre last Wednesday.
Movement-wise my ‘bad’ arm is getting there, I’m being thorough with exercises and am allowed to go above 90degrees provided I am careful. (Not sure that extended to supermarket trolleys, lol!)

Sounds like a day of feet up and rubbish day time TV @moomy. Need to get yourself fit enough for next week's sunny weather.
Tissues at the ready for me as I am currently watching DIY SoS :the Big Build. Work finished for the next two weeks for me as Sentinel Node Biopsy on Monday. xxx
