Well. Welcome to this thread.
You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.
This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.
It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.
The idea is that you can do any of these or none:
Well here goes.
Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.
Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.
PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.

Posting in this thread as although I have not done exercise for pleasure, I have done a lot. On wed am, we finally got keys for new house. Spent the last 4 days with my partner and a van moving his belongings plus an ikea trip and a few other places. Been up and downstairs like a yo yo on speed although my joints are protesting and my feet hurt. Last night was the first night sleeping in the house and my lovely new bed was very welcoming. I'm hoping this will make me sleep better but still glad to have fairy dust. Been reading messages but wifi not working yet so rely on phone. Sending hugs to all x
I should add that I have to fo this all again in 2 weeks when I move over but having next 10 days at home to pack, be with my mum who is having a new knee and visiting my dad who is going into respite care for 3 weeks as with his dementia he cant be left on his own and I cant cope with him on my own. My older sister is around to help. A busy time x
That sounded like loads of exercise Tired Minion! Hope you can relax soon and enjoy your new home. Sorry to hear about your parents, hope your mum’s op goes well.
Love the trees Northerner and Violetsniff, very huggable! Hopeless at identification though. Did lovely Nordic walk yesterday afternoon, got wet in a downpour halfway but sheltered in trees fur a while. Dried off enough on last stretch to go for coffee in a pub afterwards. No photos but this made me laugh….try it ! Xxx
Thanks HappyFeet1 got some more for you today with interesting roots or attachments….I love these roots when ver I go by .I want to hold on to them and dangle my feet in the River!x
Not wanting to spoil those lovely roots in your mind Violetsniffbut I see spider legs in the left photo
Great tree photos Violetsniff, can see Northerner’s point re spider legs! Walked to next town and back today with best friend, tea and scone in the park there too. A sprinkle of rain but nothing much. Think thunder overnight but we’ll see! Nice river path on way back, geese and ducks but just one solitary Egyptian goose, don’t know where its friends have gone…. Xx
