Well. Welcome to this thread.
You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.
This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.
It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.
The idea is that you can do any of these or none:
Well here goes.
Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.
Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.
PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.
Your photos tell a lovely story Violetsniff! I’m enjoying your shopping experiences from the comfort of my home! Did a decent walk yesterday with lovely friend, no photos as it rained most of the time but was great to be out. The rain kept most people in I think so we had the woods and paths mostly to ourselves. Everything has grown madly with the sunshine and rain so we did have to dodge a lot of nettles.
That’s interesting about the corncockles (love the name!) Bluebell Woods, I give my friends bee bombs as birthday presents to try to boost the wildflowers.
Planning to walk this afternoon so hopefully drier and some photos. Here is a young sparrow I think from just outside our front window. Think there’s a nest in our hedge (very dense so hard to see!)
Happy weekend to all, HFxx

And love all your garden photos Snowys Mum, I keep meaning to post some photos of the gorgeous guinea pigs I looked after a few weeks ago, will have to trawl back to find them! Xx
Hi Snowys Mum,
I love wild flowers, as do the bees. Hope you had loads that germinated.

Lovely walk around the Crawick Multiverse today. It’s on the site of a former open cast coal mine.

Hi everyone lovely pics and updates from you all. I hope you e managed to dodge the showers OK we’ve had some big storms here this week and things in the garden are looking a bit battered!
Hi Amalie,
We have rain in Scotland now. Not unusual I know!
A wee native spotted orchid at the multiverse.

Today our walk was in town. We enjoy it....across the water meadows and up to the chateau ramparts then along the top ridge of town and back to the centre ville. It's not long....about two and half km but there are a lot of steps up to the ramparts.....

.......finally an aperitif......
Bluebell Woods that looks an interesting place.
Lacomtekp I feel like I know rural France quite a bit better for seeing your wonderful pics.
Violetsniff
I found a couple of Strawberry
I am waiting for this Peony to flower, its nearly there and if the neighbourhood feral kids spoil it I might be posting from prison

That looked like a lovely walk Lacomtekpwith the perfect ending - a cafe! A walk involving steps definitely counts for more in my book. The sunshine seems a distant memory atm as it’s so wet, but doesn’t stop me getting out. Wet walk with dog today, tomorrow the forecast looks more hopeful. Photos are from the weekend when it was dryish….HFxx

The white blob in the foreground is my favourite little egret!
