Well. Welcome to this thread.
You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.
This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.
It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.
The idea is that you can do any of these or none:
Well here goes.
Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.
Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.
PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.
Hi everyone hope you are keeping warm and safe. We had a dusting of snow here this morning but that’s all. Just been for a walk with my friend and the sun came out for us, it was perfect timing!

Snowy dog walk with hubby. Paths were still muddy in bits but the fields were lovely and crisp with the snow. A few snow people and one family sledging.

Pigs in snow (not in blankets).
Lovely walk but glad to be back home in the warm! Love to all, HFxx
Hahaha “Pigs in snow,not blankets”!
lovely photos, and you are right the secret of a good photo is timing. There was a time I was staying with my sister and we visited Stourhead. It was after some shopping so my sister said,”I am just going to have some hot chocolate”(she is a chocolate-fiend!)and I popped off on my own saying I would meet her in a little while. In the next 10-20 minutes I was able to get the most beautiful late-sun photos !If I had had hot chocolate I would have missed them as the moment had passed!
So...anyway,I went for a walk in the snow today to see what I could see.
My favourite photo was this.I loved the beautiful colours of the flowers peeking out from the snow .... .
also, not sure what these prints in the snow are. They look like the size of a large child’s footprints but they were in the centre of the path...and none leading up to them.Derr Derr DerrrN,!!
maybe a fox?xx(to give a sense of scale, the tiny ones nearest look the size of cat’s paws xx
Great photos HappyFeet1 and Violetsniff. My fave pigs and cows who look particularly at home in the snow, and it’s lovely how nature battled through, those flowers really stand out, have a good night all and let’s see what tomorrow brings us xx
Couple of mile on local dog walk very sunny but so cold with a sharp NE wind
only one other dog walker in distance

Could hardly move that wrapped up lol

I did my half hour of exercise but also swept the drive of the remaining snow, brrrr!
Hugs xxx
Moomy
Oh that scarf/snood looks so cosy Northerner and yes moomy it has been brrrrrrr, considering the actual temperature has been higher today I seem to have felt colder
Hi all - spent a lovely few minutes reading all the posts since I last peeked - lots of beautiful and interesting things.
I managed a couple of slow, short runs last week so getting better. My 2 favourite exercise sessions were at the weekend, though. On Saturday it was sunny and crisp and I finally managed to meet my friend for a walk. This is the first time since the beginning of December when I've spent time with anyone in real life and it was lovely - phone calls and video chats just not the same!
Then Sunday it snowed - it never lasts long here so I got my walking boots on sharpish and headed to the park - it was so busy with snowman-building, sledging and even 3 people dancing in the exercise area (not very good really in lockdown, but was lovely to watch from a distance)
Then there was a socially distanced queue in the walled garden all with cameras out - a fox on the wall which reminded me of this thread so I joined them!

Have a lovely evening
R
.
great idea to look for garden unusual things in gardens!
Here is another unusual door....
land lovely to see another face !!Hi Northerner!!a face to fit to the name !I can see you when I write now.
I wore my snow boots today...yippee!...I looked a bit like a clown as they are slightly big...but I looked round and nobody was noticing.
had nice walk to PO where there was a pretty long line .I wish they wouldn’t line along the middle of the pavement...maybe closer to the building would be much more hygeinic and make more sense.
