Walking back to Happiness

Well. Welcome to this thread.

You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.

This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.

It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.

The idea is that you can do any of these or none:

  1. Post when you have walked.
  2. Post how many minutes you walked for.
  3. Post how you felt before, during or after. Or not at all.
  4. Post pictures from your walk, but ones that do not point to where you live.
  5. Post inspirational quotes, thoughts or comments.
  6. A simple like of people’s efforts is fine. No need to write an essay unless you feel the need.
  7. On a safety note. Do tell friends, family or the thread when you leave and return safely. Be aware of your personal safety at all times.

Well here goes.

Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.

Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.

PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.

The light of the beautiful day has started to fade.  But I have had a great day STOMPING round the golf course.  We had our Christmas golf day and had sausage rolls minces pies chocolates mullGolfer wine on the ninth hole.   Here I am with a couple of my golf Golfer️‍♀️ buddies.  I shall have to go for a long walk tomorrow to burn off the calories.

  • That was a very Christmassy round of golf ! And I’d love my morning coffee in your shady garden spot , looks peaceful.
Walked with my usual lovely friend today, long walk but had to be slightly cut short due to fading light. We came back through one section of woods at dusk and saw a gathering of red kites - around 14 - who swooped and danced for us, just before the woods, in varying numbers for 10 minutes or so. Great to watch, have never seen so many at once before. Back through heaths at nearly dark - bit sploshy but thankfully managed to stay upright!
And  we were walking by 1.30 so hopefully you joined us in a stomp? Love to all, HFxx

  • Day 7 - Tuesday 15th Dec. my nieces birthday.

Nice day - shame I didn't get myself outside to see it....

Okay BIG LET DOWN ladies - I feel like I have squandered away my day, even more so now I have read all your posts.  Ladies, Ladies, Ladies, - you are all doing really well, you are.  You do give me inspiration.

It looks like the STOMP is catching on.... hey it could be 'our' new 'thing' hahaha 'thing' ...

The Breast Cancer Stomp!! Stomping cancer out, Stomping it out everywhere Athletic shoeAthletic shoe    BootBoot

look at you with your 1 mile done and then out sweeping too - hope you were Stomping and Sweeping hahaha - looks very clean, no leaves to be seen.

loving the photos, the silhouette of the tree is lovely.  Did your car pass the mot? have you stomped back to the garage to collect it yet Athletic shoeAthletic shoe

, I love that picture, it looks like me competely round from the legs up hahaha and as for cats, well I could go mad at mine at the moment, I think the one has Chronic Kidney Disease and he keeps going off his food (this is one of the signs, amongst others) - I feel I am trying to feed him everything and he just turns his nose up at it - yet he must be hungry.... I'm about to try some chicken in warm water Pray  You did well on your steps 1500 by lunchtime - you are well in front of me!

Golfer, look at you all on the Golf course - I wonder what a group of Santa's are called, can you imagine any children seeing such a sight Santa the 9th hole sounds good.... Golfer Ice cream  Keep on Stomping!!

You know I can't get over how that sheep posed for your photo Sheep- all the others merrily doing their own thing and he is 'hello, yes, what you doing - oww a photo, yes of course, make sure 'Ewe' get my good side hahaha

I've left me till last.... I did do a few things, I did online grocery order .... takes me hours!! mind you everything does... I actually put the Christmas tree up - will finish it tomorrow and try and upload a photo.

Now then on the treadmill front - Stomping seems the way forward for me at the moment .

owww hang on.... what's happened to Dancers, I don't recall seeing a post - I hope you are okay, please don't say those ballet shoes have ran off with you and they keep on running - come back Hugging

So, as I was saying, Stomping is my friend at the moment, I didn't make the mile, not far off it, the phone rang and I had to answer..... then never got chance to catch up/finish ..... naughty.

Now I'm not sure if I wrote this on here or was thinking it last night, I think I was thinking.... I need to learn how to be 'strong willed', 'to feel good within myself' and I can't think of this word, like push, to do something, to complete, not to leave it half way thought. hmmm not sure of the right word.  Focused ... I don't know.... I'll be looking at The Tube to see if I can find anything there that will give me the push or ideas.

    So all in all ....

    Day 7 -

09 minutes or there about Stomping !!!! Not good, but 9 minutes better than none!!

Tomorrow shopping coming between 2:00pm and 3:00pm - not sure if the Stomp will be before or after... after though have to take shopping to moms owwwww - lets see what the day brings.  Night Lovely Ladies xxxxx and sleep SleepingZzz

I've had to come back on - I was leaving this till last and then forgot aarrghhh ......
Northerner how blessed are you 15 minutes to the coast.... I'm, I don't know, I reckon 1 hour 30 minutes/2 hours from the coast - yet I love the sea, I really do.  Just before lockdown had started I was looking at houses by the sea, found one in Skegness with the back garden leading on to the beach (small coastal type bath between garden and actual beach).  Lockdown comes and even more reason for living by the sea..... this is where strong willed comes into play even more Ok woman that's it - I'm gone xx

I'm hoping this makes sense - only my mind says one thing and my fingers type whatever they like x
