Well. Welcome to this thread.

You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.

This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.

It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.

The idea is that you can do any of these or none:

  1. Post when you have walked.
  2. Post how many minutes you walked for.
  3. Post how you felt before, during or after. Or not at all.
  4. Post pictures from your walk, but ones that do not point to where you live.
  5. Post inspirational quotes, thoughts or comments.
  6. A simple like of people’s efforts is fine. No need to write an essay unless you feel the need.
  7. On a safety note. Do tell friends, family or the thread when you leave and return safely. Be aware of your personal safety at all times.

Well here goes.

Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.

Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.

PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.

  • Morning, all,

I walked!!! Actually I needed some wound dressings as am getting low and our local small pharmacy is only part time, so was closed. So I walked a mile each way into town and back to our small-ish Boots.

i crossed the road a few times to avoid people, and wore my home made mask in the shop. It will now go into the wash.

  • Gosh I’m glad I went when I did, we are in the middle of a thunderstorm now! It was raining and windy on my return but nothing too bad.

Lovely to read all the posts. To have to deal with operations and treatments as well as the isolation must be very difficult indeed. Fortunately the weather has been so good, enabling walking every day.

I think of this thread as I walk.

  • Good to see you back on the thread Short walk today but yesterday went on a bit of an ‘explore’ with friend, took a different path off a familiar one. Wonderful poppies at the end of a field of oats, will try to post a photo. We came back along a well trodden route and got caught in a cracking thunderstorm! Luckily we were able to shelter partially in a thicket so not totally soaked. Love to all, HFxx

Don’t be afraid to cry. It will free your mind of sorrowful thoughts. – Hopi
  • Well I have lost two messages on here now.Goodness knows if it is weird weather for internet but it has been going wrong all day.I will try again.

I went for a short walk this morning,

And got so mad now with myself! i had a RESPONSE on my First Resonder App...and it was the one time out of s hundred( literally) when there was no signal!! I kept pressing Accept!Accept!Accept!! Like a mad woman... but the virtual button refused to accept.

Anyway there was absolutely nothing I could do so it will go on to the next responder...

Things are going very weird in iphoneland atm...

When making a nice cup of tea with a new drum of sweeteners,I dropped the whole drum into my tea...as I was hurriedly getting dressed ,I put my jeans on and fell over.(my tablet has this side affect)

Then Lakeland wasn’t open (need new hoover)so came back to order online...no orders being taken in this area.

Think I’ll go back to bed.

  • Oh no, , I’ve just put a Lakeland order in and got an email today to say it’s being dealt with, I know they are slow because of the situation. But there’s no delivery charge since you can’t collect locally. Love that store! I hope you can get an order accepted soon

  • Morning all, I love lakeland too! Always visit there store in the Trafford centre when I'm in the UK.

So I had some great news, my post op shows no trace of cancer just dead cells and scar tissue!! a complete pathological response my surgeon called it, so the best possible outcome and fingers crossed things will be ok now! Still got hormone therapy to start and herceptin to continue.  Not been told final recommendation for radiotherapy yet but I suspect so.

Went for a short walk with the dog today, feeling bit sore still but not too bad. Nice to get out of the house Slight smile

  • Slightly creepy installation at entrance to our estate. Made from a tree they chopped down to build the houses!
