Well. Welcome to this thread.
You may be surprised why it is here or happy it is here. Then again: ‘You have got to be joking! Do you know what is wrong with me?’ may be your response.
This all began on the Extreme Fatigue thread. On there several people wanted and needed inspiration/incentive to get out and walk. Many people see the benefits of it in their life and to help on this; mad journey, train ride, rollercoaster ride and other positively rude words journey called Breast Cancer.
It is not a thread created to make anyone feel less than they do at present. It is not a thread that will set people against one another. Being competitive with yourself or a simple challenge to yourself is the point, but not a race against others is a key premis.
The idea is that you can do any of these or none:
Well here goes.
Either it will grow and blossom, with lots of lovely people benefiting. Or I will have egg all over my face – not for the first time in my chequered life and career.
Leolady – may be adding in the odd gallop to my walks.
PS if you don't like us don't be cruel.
moomy... well done for trying the running. I’m tempted to give it a go but know my joints wouldn’t like it. My knees, and everywhere. are just so cranky. I’ll stick to walking. I may do yoga at home as I know the moves/stretches which help ... and I can chose which ones to do. I’m planning to go back to Tai chi as it’s good for stretching and I don’t have to get myself into some interesting positions ... my abdo muscles do knot up at times. I need to do some muscle building exercises but steady away.

Violetsniff, what an awful experience with that uncaring GP! You are so right to rebook with someone else! Big hugs xx
Onwards and flatwards (don't do hills) and keep walking if you can!
Hi all, good walk in the woods, liked the bark on this fallen trunk. Got rid of the cobwebs and enjoyed the later sunset - slowly the days are lengthening!
thankyou everso so much for your posts am feeling heaps better now and looking forward to seeing the older GP who trained with me.

Funny, but it's true
What loneliness can do
Since I've been away
I have loved you more each day
Walking back to happiness, woopah oh yeah yeah
Said goodbye to loneliness, woopah oh yeah yeah
I never knew I'd miss you
Now I know what I must do
Walking back to happiness.
Violetsniff I am cross about your experience at the surgery the other day. Why would someone like that go into such a profession? I think she is to be avoided in future!
Moomy well done with giving the running a go, I enjoyed running a few years ago but stopped because of issues with my knee. Best to find something else!
I know some of you do yoga, I do an online one which I can recommend, Yoga with Adriene. Has anyone else come across Adriene? There’s loads of free sessions some are very gentle. Anything between 5 and 50 minutes. I like her because her motto is ‘Find what feels good’ as opposed to trying to force your body into hardcore poses.
Walking later and it’s really sunny so will take a pic.
Evening all, managed to be out walking for most of the afternoon, such a beautiful day (if a bit chilly). Nordic walking followed by walk with friend, all in a country park, feel like I should sleep like a log tonight!
